dawid
Great news. The good news is that I skipped "In Process" and was in "With Assessor" for one day - so the time may be very short for you both.

PieterK
Just a quick heads up to anybody looking to track their registered letter, it seems it can be quite a pain:http://www.ausposttracking.com.au/
Cramer
I would not hold to much hope with tracking, my tracking number never ever returned any results, I got the letter anyway.

PieterK
I arranged it so that my results get sent to a little birdie in Australia, and that birdie would scan and e-mail the results to me before popping it in the mail.Well, I have heard from said birdie that I PASSED!!!!!No MODL or CSL, just straightforward NEC, but I wasn't expecting CSL or MODL in any event. Go have a Flaming Lamborghini at News Cafe to celebrate I'm not aware that the ACS letter states CSL or MODL? Mine just gives a code 2231-79 which is fortunately on the CSL list. Is this code what you're referring to?
PieterK
"AWESOME news Pieter!!!!!!!!!! Go have a Flaming Lamborghini at News Cafe to celebrate" - Have a what now? I'm from Kimberley, we're still in the stone age. I did have some flaming horse-and-carts at the watering hole though! Oi my head! But thank you."I'm not aware that the ACS letter states CSL or MODL? Mine just gives a code 2231-79 which is fortunately on the CSL list. Is this code what you're referring to?"According do DIAC's website if your IT occupation is on the MODL "the Australian Computer Society (ACS) states you have met the criteria to be recognised in one of the above specialisations.Skills assessments provided to successful applicants will state: * the ASCO Code for Computer Professional not elsewhere classified (nec) with the specialisation stated in brackets - for example, 2231-79 (SAP) and * the statement: 'Based on the provided certified documentation, it is my opinion that the applicant has 12 months experience in (name of specialisation, for example, SAP)'.Note: If you have a skills assessment which only states the ASCO Code for 'Computer Professional nec 2231-79', you are not eligible to be awarded MODL points. A new assessment with the above information will be required if you wish to claim MODL points. "Since the CSL mirrors the MODL occupations for IT I guess the same rule appplies there as well. My agent seems to think differently based on my conversation with them yesterday EDIT: Nevermind...found it.EDIT EDIT: Mine states 2231-79 (.Net Technologies Specialist)...so alls good ;-) I was nearly in panic mode there :-) Edited March 4, 2009 by Jacques and Natalie
dawid
Any Idea how long will a State Sponsorship take? This is now how much work and time before the 176 can be lodged or if they happend in parallel?Again me and my agent. Before the ACS results thaty have claimed tht they were investigating the state sponsorship for me but now they are investigating agein.I feel totally done in by my agent. PieterK
Of all the states only Victoria is prepared to offer sponsorship before you have completed your skills assessment, and you need state sponsorship in place before you can apply for the 176 visa. Frank_OZ
I thought Victoria doesn't sponsor Computer Professional 2231-79? I'm I wrong? My ASCO code is the same as Jacques: 2231-79 (.Net Technologies Specialist)
PieterK
The last time I looked they sponsered the 2231-79's on the CSL.
Cramer
The last time I looked they sponsered the 2231-79's on the CSL.Just check this forum, Victoria were gettin a little sticky on sponsorships and they were only sponsoring if you did not get the 120 points for general. dawid
I thought ACS was a rough ride but it seems that State Sponsorship is worse - especially if your agent feels it should be easy but the ACSO allocated to me is sought by none of the states. I have been allocated "2231-79 Business / Systems Architect". I currently feels down - down and 45 is comming up fast (end June).RegardsDawid
PieterK
I see ACT offers sponsorship for "systems analysis", is that close to what you do?
