Uhhhhhh, why does this whole process bring out the impatience so! And it makes a person obsess over the *status* of an application: our appeal's is still "in process"... here's hoping it changes to "with assessor" this week and then quickly into "case finalised" so we can apply for the visa already!! :)

Hi Kit,

Don't worry, I'm sure it won't be long now.

In the meantime, use the time to get all your documents ready, if you haven't done so already. :)

Mine finally says those magic two words: "Case finalised"

It's been like that for over a week now.

ACS received my application on 03 July 2009.

SAPO decided that two months wasn't long enough to wait, so they all got together and organised a little strike.

*sniff*

Thanks guys - you're the best!

Yours in anticipation,

Carl

P.S. I just hope that SAPO don't have any more surprises planned for me...

Holding thumbs for you Carl.

Has anyone ever got ACS membership via the professional partner program? The company I am sponsored with on my 457 has offered membership of the ACS via their partner relationship. I was in the process of writing my RPL but it seems that with the PPP I don't need to do that - just send certified copies of my professional certificates etc? Does anyone know?

Hopefully your letter will arrive in the mail this week Carl...I'm still waiting for my House & Leisure...saw it on the racks at Pick 'n Pay yesterday, but it's not in my postbox!

CTFamily - I don't think I've ever read about anyone going that route, but hopefully there's someone on the forum who can help you. Else maybe try and google it and see what you come up with? Would be great if you just have to send certified copies of your qualifications. Let us know if you find out!

Hey peepuls! :ilikeit: Just clocking in to find out what's been happening... nothing on my side :ilikeit::ilikeit:

I emailed ACS to find out how long they take with appeals and got a reply saying '6 to 8 weeks'. As of yesterday, it has been 8 weeks. What do you guys recommend? Should we wait til 12 weeks is up before bugging them, or should we get on their cases now since it's been 8 weeks already and the appeal's status hasn't moved from "In Process" to "With Assessor" yet (ie, we have at least another 2 weeks to wait) :ilikeit:

Hey Kit

Your signature says that you got ASCO Code 2231-79, but that it wasn't enough for MODL.

I'm not quite sure I understand, since I also got 2231-79 (.NET Specialist), which as I understand it is MODL:

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-ski...s-in-demand.htm

In fact, all the 2231-79 Computing Professional specialisations are MODL.

The way I understand it, you have to be on the CSL.

"Computing Professionals -- where the applicant's specialisation is listed on the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL)."

Then if you look on MODL, it lists all the Computing Professional specialisations.

So if you you get 2231-79, then surely you're in.

Flip, I hope I haven't misunderstood something along the way...

CTFamily if you have a look at the ACS website you will see that they specificlaly state that if you are a Professional member (As I am through the PPP at the company that I work for) you will still need to submit all the required docs for the Assessment as per normal, if however you are deemed to be a senior member of a fellow level member you would not!

So if you have been granted Professioanl member status, it is back on the RPL route for you!

Hi Carl

I think that where the confusion is arising is in the detail - you need to have a positive assessment for one or more computing specialisations to qualify for MODL and the CSL; as per the footnote on MODL which states:

"Skills assessments provided to successful applicants will state:

the ASCO Code for Computer Professional not elsewhere classified (nec) with the specialisation stated in brackets - for example, 2231-79 (SAP) and the statement: 'Based on the provided certified documentation, it is my opinion that the applicant has 12 months experience in (name of specialisation, for example, SAP)'.

Note: If you have a skills assessment which only states the ASCO Code for 'Computer Professional nec 2231-79', you are not eligible to be awarded MODL points. A new assessment with the above information will be required if you wish to claim MODL points. "

Hope that helps clarify the issue.

Best regards

Susan

Uhhh, still nothing from ACS!!

It's been 9 weeks "in process"... 10 weeks since they logged it on their system. To phone/email them or not to phone/email them - what do you guys reckon? It's now 2 weeks late already... it's 1 week longer "in process" than they say the whole thing should take in total!! :)

Gahh I think I'm going to go nuts if we don't at least find out what they're up to with it...

Hubby emailed ACS to ask whether they need anything further and what the status is of his application: they don't need anything further and it's with an assessor... :ilikeit:

Checked ACS appeal status this morning before work, and IT'S CHANGED TO WITH ASSESSOR!!! Omg yay it's only a matter of 2 or so weeks til we find out. Now the anxiety peaks: is it a "yes, CSL" or a "yes, you got MODL as we said before"

EEEEEEEEEEEEEKKK!! But yay FINALLY, a change!!
