Tex
Hi Tex,Yep, I was happy with the jump too, even though online was only 5 days. Hopefully they will also whizz through the December apps soon too, as it was the quiet season. Good luck. Thanks Nazba! I was really surprised by the sudden increase in processing....could be because of the recent letter of complaint to the Minister (someone else sent it)....or could be because of very few paper applications during that period. I suspect more folks are submitting on-line now. Good news either way!Tex

Milada (Ms Maritz)
Movement Movement Movement I'm sure they've split the 175 and 176 visas just to complicate my graphs I really, really hope there wasn't a lot of people who applied for their visa during the last part of December 2007, so that the movement can really "move" during that part! Red
I was quite surprised to see that the 176's are currently being processed quicker than the 175's - maybe that's only because there are less 176's? vlooi
Hi VlooiI also follow yours and MrsMaritz closely, because our dates are so close together. I warned Mrs Maritz not to get a CO before us as we are ONE FULL day ahead of her... , so I will try to not get a CO before you... I like any progress on the SA websites as I really feel sorry for all of us with the little green books always being discriminated against in some form. I became so despondent watching the British getting their visas so quick and then some of them still moan and whinge! And for many of them the main reason they want to go to Oz is because of the sun! We recently had to get Schengen visas to visit Europe and what a lot of red tape and ££'s just because we are South Africans!

Zambeze
It is strange that we have cases of lucky people who applied in late mid of January 2008 with visas granted and emails from ASPC state that they are processing December applications. vlooi
It is strange that we have cases of lucky people who applied in late mid of January 2008 with visas granted and emails from ASPC state that they are processing December applications. Could some one shed me a light on this phenomena? The email date seems to be the "worse case scenario" and reflects the progress of ALL applicants in the system from high and low risk countries. If you look at the British Expat website, you will see that they are already granting PR visas of applicants of June 2008, so the South African January applicants who received visas were still FAR behind the British applicants with regards to processing time. Apparently DIAC have recently received a lot of fraudulent applications from Asian countries and all applications from high risk countries are now being scrutinized with a magnifying glass causing a constant backlog.
