Dedrei
Hi WilnaI am by no means and expert. ptlabs & Fiona on the forum is the experts. I just read up a lot on imigration things and BE forum as well and a bit of personal exprience as well. Groete

Just B
Dedrei,Is there some sort of comparison in approval time between paper based and on-line applications for General skilled migration visas (PR).The reason I ask is that your weekly up date shows that on-line applications are going through faster, it this true or am I reading this wrong?RegardsK&B Edited October 18, 2007 by K & B
Aramat
K & B as far as I can tell, it seems that the online visa app process is alot quicker. Stef B had a CO apponted after 15 days from lodging on the 2nd Sept!Time will tell as numbers lodging online apps increase.

Guest nc74
Hi everyone thought I'd add the reply from ASPC for this week: RECEIPTING AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF APPLICATIONSThe ASPC has changed the method of receipting and acknowledgingapplications to improve the service provided to clients.Once an application has been receipted it will undergo validity checking. An acknowledgement letter with a client reference number and receipt willbe sent following lodgement if the application is valid and at this stageyou will be also be advised of your file number. As advised above, currently this may take up to 12 weeks from receipt of the application. The Admin team is sending evidence of receipt of payment ahead of theacknowledgement process where e-mail communication has been authorised.Applicants or their authorised representatives will receive acknowledgementthat the department has received their documents and receipted the relevantvisa application charge. If an application is determined to be invalid documents will be returnedand a refund of the visa application charge arranged. As of 13 November 2007 the ASPC Admin Section is processing applications asfollows:Onshore Applications: receipting and acknowledging applications received on12 November 2007.Offshore Applications received after 1 September 2007: receipting andacknowledging applications received on 12 November 2007.Offshore Applications received prior to 1 September 2007*: receiptingapplications received on 8 August 2007 and acknowledging applicationsreceived on 27 July 2007.* Applicants and representatives who have not authorised e-mailcommunication will not receive separate advice that the ASPC has receivedand receipted an application and will receive the standard acknowledgementletter and receipt details in due course. Please note that any delay in acknowledging an application does not affectthe date on which a valid application is recorded as having been receivedand does not delay processing of the application.Once an application has been acknowledged it will be allocated to a caseofficer for further assessment as soon as possible, however, the ASPCreceives a large number of applications and you will not be contactedimmediately.PROCESSING AND ALLOCATION INFORMATION - For the week of 12 November 2007Applications lodged on or before the dates shown below have been allocatedto case officers for further processing.Onshore Skilled visas (permanent and provisional)Student/Graduate applications - Class DD and DE visasPaper based applications: 4 June 2007 (subclass 880), 27 March 2007(subclass 881) and 30 March 2007 (subclass 882)E-lodged (on-line) applications: 20 July 2007 (subclass 880) and 30 July2007 (subclass 881) and 30 July 2007 (subclass 882)Onshore Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) (SIR) – Class UX visasPaper based applications:7 August 2007eSIR (on-line) applications: 22 July 2007New Zealand Citizen (Residence) - Class DB visasAll applications: all applications are now allocated to case officersSkilled Migration visas - All paper based applications for Class BN, BQ,BR, UX and UZ visas(Subclasses 134, 136, 137, 138, 139, 495 and 496): 15 January 2007e-lodged Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) applications: 17 August2007General Skilled Migration visas– Class VE, VF,VB and VC visas(subclasses 175, 176, 475, 476, 885, 886, 887, 485 and 487) E-lodged (on-line) applications: 21 September 2007 Paper based applications: allocations yet to commenceIf a visa application was made more than two weeks before the relevant dateshown above and you have not been contacted by a case officer pleasecontact the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre from the web pagehttp://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/visa-enqui...ofessionals.htmLooks like the online applications have NOT moved again. Johnsons
At least the movement on the 136 is faster than it was prior to 1 Sept.. it moves about 7- 10 days per week! We applied in Jan 2007, but they only acknowledged mid-March.. being the ever optomistic, we will hopefully be allocated a case officer soon ! JohanK
Hi guys I thought I would update my timeline as something very interesting happened today or so I think. Our timeline goes a little something like this. Applied for a subclass 136 Skilled Independent Visa from with in Australia.1.Application delivered in Adelaide on 07/03/2007 2.Acknowledgment email received 26/04/20073.Case officer appointed 16/11/2007 (She only requested Australian Federal Police Clearances as this was still outstanding I scanned and emailed it to her the same day)4.Pre Approval grant letter received 20/11/07 Now what gets to me is no more documents was requested, one of our IELTS test results submitted was issued in December 2005 so according to my what I know should have been to old, but wait the best is still to come. We attended our medicals in July 2007 and I still have the results sealed in my drawer at home. I don’t know if Health Service Australia sent them a copy as well but the Doctor clearly asked us that day if they must forward the documents or do we want it and I told him I would rather keep it with me. My pre approval letter does not request any more info and only wants to know when we intend to leave the county to validate or visas. Freaky I would say?
