PR visa Processing Times

Hi Wilna

I am by no means and expert. ptlabs & Fiona on the forum is the experts. I just read up a lot on imigration things and BE forum as well and a bit of personal exprience as well.

Groete

I'm so glad they've added this! How can I get this e-mailed directly to me?

Dedrei,

Is there some sort of comparison in approval time between paper based and on-line applications for General skilled migration visas (PR).

The reason I ask is that your weekly up date shows that on-line applications are going through faster, it this true or am I reading this wrong?

Regards

K&B

K & B as far as I can tell, it seems that the online visa app process is alot quicker. Stef B had a CO apponted after 15 days from lodging on the 2nd Sept!

Time will tell as numbers lodging online apps increase.

I agree, won't be long before the online queue is as long as the paper one.

Oh well, good to see the line is moving along nicely!!!

We're in for a long wait - past 7 days showed a 2 day movement with Receipting, 4 days with Acknowledging and 8 days with CO allocation.

It must be the rush to beat the 1 Sept deadline that is effecting the first two, or they are slowing down in preparation for the festive season?

Hi Dedrei

The dates on allocation of case officer on 175 e-lodged applications, on your last 2 reports have gone backwards

Per 26 October CO assigned for applications before 2 October

Per 7 November report, CO assigned to applications before 21 Sept

Subsequent report from tommo unfortunately also shows 21 Sept

I'm grabbing at straws - please tell me the last 2 are wrong!!!

Thanks

Jan

I also commented on this, don't know what ASPC are doing on the 175 e-lodged apps. been standing still for about 4 weeks! very frustrating, I wish they would tell us why so we know what the hold up is.

Hi everyone thought I'd add the reply from ASPC for this week:

RECEIPTING AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF APPLICATIONS

The ASPC has changed the method of receipting and acknowledging

applications to improve the service provided to clients.

Once an application has been receipted it will undergo validity checking.

An acknowledgement letter with a client reference number and receipt will

be sent following lodgement if the application is valid and at this stage

you will be also be advised of your file number. As advised above,

currently this may take up to 12 weeks from receipt of the application.

The Admin team is sending evidence of receipt of payment ahead of the

acknowledgement process where e-mail communication has been authorised.

Applicants or their authorised representatives will receive acknowledgement

that the department has received their documents and receipted the relevant

visa application charge.

If an application is determined to be invalid documents will be returned

and a refund of the visa application charge arranged.

As of 13 November 2007 the ASPC Admin Section is processing applications as

follows:

Onshore Applications: receipting and acknowledging applications received on

12 November 2007.

Offshore Applications received after 1 September 2007: receipting and

acknowledging applications received on 12 November 2007.

Offshore Applications received prior to 1 September 2007*: receipting

applications received on 8 August 2007 and acknowledging applications

received on 27 July 2007.

* Applicants and representatives who have not authorised e-mail

communication will not receive separate advice that the ASPC has received

and receipted an application and will receive the standard acknowledgement

letter and receipt details in due course.

Please note that any delay in acknowledging an application does not affect

the date on which a valid application is recorded as having been received

and does not delay processing of the application.

Once an application has been acknowledged it will be allocated to a case

officer for further assessment as soon as possible, however, the ASPC

receives a large number of applications and you will not be contacted

immediately.

At least the movement on the 136 is faster than it was prior to 1 Sept.. it moves about 7- 10 days per week! We applied in Jan 2007, but they only acknowledged mid-March.. being the ever optomistic, we will hopefully be allocated a case officer soon !

Hi guys

I thought I would update my timeline as something very interesting happened today or so I think. Our timeline goes a little something like this.

Applied for a subclass 136 Skilled Independent Visa from with in Australia.

1.Application delivered in Adelaide on 07/03/2007

2.Acknowledgment email received 26/04/2007

3.Case officer appointed 16/11/2007 (She only requested Australian Federal Police Clearances as this was still outstanding I scanned and emailed it to her the same day)

4.Pre Approval grant letter received 20/11/07

Now what gets to me is no more documents was requested, one of our IELTS test results submitted was issued in December 2005 so according to my what I know should have been to old, but wait the best is still to come. We attended our medicals in July 2007 and I still have the results sealed in my drawer at home. I don’t know if Health Service Australia sent them a copy as well but the Doctor clearly asked us that day if they must forward the documents or do we want it and I told him I would rather keep it with me.

My pre approval letter does not request any more info and only wants to know when we intend to leave the county to validate or visas.

Freaky I would say?

:)

Well then JohanK, I think you are through, a pre-approval is a good an approval!

According to the timelines, we are about a week or so after you, so hope to hear something soon as well.
