Our application was received on the 15th of March 07. If they are processing at this rate, we will only be getting a CO in two and a half years' time! This is soooo frustrating...

And the acknowledgement letter queue

Receipting and Acknowledgment of Applications

The ASPC has changed the method of receipting and acknowledging

applications to improve the service provided to clients.

Once an application has been receipted it will undergo validity checking.

An acknowledgement letter with a client reference number and receipt will

be sent approximately six weeks after lodgement if the application is

valid and at this stage you will be also be advised of your file number.

The Admin team is moving towards receipting payment within 7 working days

of receiving an application where e-mail communication has been

authorised. Applicants or their authorised representatives will receive

acknowledgement that the department has received their documents and

receipted the relevant visa application charge.

If an application is determined to be invalid documents will be returned

and a refund of the visa application charge arranged.

As of 17 August 2007 the ASPC admin section is processing as follows:

Onshore Applications: receipting applications received on 03 August 2007

and acknowledging applications received on 03 August 2007.

Offshore Applications: receipting applications received on 12 July 2007 and

acknowledging applications received on 24 May 2007.

Hi Guys

That time of the week again:

Acknowledgment letters:

As of 27 August 2007 the ASPC admin section is processing as follows:

Onshore Applications: receipting applications received on 14 August 2007 and acknowledging applications received on 14 August 2007.

Offshore Applications: receipting applications received on 16 July 2007 and acknowledging applications received on 31 May 2007.

Applicants and representatives who have not authorised e-mail communication will not receive separate advice that the ASPC has received and receipted an application and will receive the standard acknowledgement letter and receipt details in due course.

Please note that any delay in acknowledging an application does not affect the date on which a valid application is recorded as having been received and does not delay processing of the application.

And the dreaded queue for CO's has moved two weeks this week. :)

Hi guys,

Is there a link where I can check on the progress of our 457, our agent is very quiet.

Maybe I can " sneek a peek" without her knowing.

Hi Leon,

thanks for the link, how can we check it without a TR no, our migration agent did'nt give us our no because she handles everything ( 457 visa)

On the same website you can request your TRN number. You will need to know the date you applied and your passport numbers. They will email you if they can find your application.

According to the above case officer will only be assigned for applications received on or before 8 Nov (priority).

According to the timeline list maintained by Dedrei (thank you) two members already received CO altough their applications were received in Dec 06. Note they were allocated CO on the 8th Aug 07.

My question. Is the email that we receiving from ASPC incorrect?

Link to comment

I have found many people who were allocated a CO earlier than this ASPC e-mail suggests, but none who have been allocated a CO later.

The e-mail basically shows that EVERYONE up to that lodge date now has a CO. But most people get it earlier.

"Offshore Applications: receipting applications received on 23 July 2007 and"

Hi All,

Have you noticed that the receipting has not moved for the last 3 weeks !!!

The start of a long wait it seems as before the 1st of September the applications flooded in and are causing further backlog havoc ? :ilikeit:

Having seen two to three 136 visas being approved over the the past few days, makes us really excited, knowing that we could be soon!!! Our application was received at DIMA in March 2007, with some wishful thinking it should be approved November 2007, otherwise February 2008 as nothing really happens over December/January, proven earlier this year!

To everyone applying, the process takes long, but it's worth the wait!

HI,

WOW, now this is excellent info. Been searching for months for someone who will be able to tell us what the usual timelines are.

The title shows PR visa Processing Times, are there different processing times for Temporary visas. We are doing a 475 regional skilled.

Thanx for the help.

Dedrei,

How are you? You won't believe it but we are still waiting for feedback for our 457 visa!!!! We are on week 12 - the agent keeps on telling me that basically no news is good news but no movement from the date our medicals were finalised 16 August 2007 surely that would indicate that there is something wrong - our application is at the Brisbane branch!! The agent insists that he doesn't need to follow up on the progess, that we must just wait to the "grant" email???? I am very concerned at the mo...... Any advise????

Regards,

Stace

Stace if I were you I'd phone DIAC personally and find out what is the hold up. I am a person that can't take second hand info, have to hear it directly.

Maybe just give them a ring and tell them your sitation and how long you have been waiting for your 457 visa.

Hi Dedrei,

It seems as if you are 'the one' - knowing everything about visas. I did not want to PM you without your permission, do not know enough forum etiquette yet.

Seems there are often confusion between the 457 and 475. Both are Temporary though. We only need to do our medicals still and e-lodged our Regional skilled 475, with a South Aus sponsorship, after 1 September. Seems we are in for a very long wait. Can I follow the same timelines as the PR?

[skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) (eSIR visa applications)

E-lodged (on-line) applications: 1 April 2007]

Thank you for your selfless help to all of us, gnawing our nails.
