Take care and good wishes I agree with you JTN.I met people in Oz that have gone the 884/864 (I think) route. They got PR (without Medical benefits) fairly quickly. They purchased a plot and are busy building. The problem is that should they get one of the dreaded illnesses ,before their 4 years waiting period expires, they will not qualify for Citizenship and will probably face having to travel as a tourist once again. The difference is that they have sold up everything in SA . My biggest fear is that I or my wife should get ill and we are forced to stay in SA and I have sold up everything. I would rather have the PR in hand before breaking complete ties with SA as we will not be able to get proper medical care on a long term basis ,as a Tourist in OZ. Dirkz Posted July 18, 2017 Report Share Posted July 18, 2017 Hi there Roomies, Just to update our progress with a few bits of info explaining the process (for what it's worth at this stage and time). As you know we were contacted by our CO on 30 June 2017 to supply our final documents, including Form 80 for each of us, any change in circumstances since application (which I already did beginning of the year - Form 1022), any change of address (which I also already did - Form 929), and the AOS Acceptance Letter from Centrelink (which we haven't heard from since 21 April 2017 when my son did the AOS). I replied to our CO with relevant information and the Form 80's, also explaining that Centrelink has not come back to us yet since the application on 21 April up to then (30 June). In the mean time Centrelink contacted my son on 3 July, had the interview and emailed him the papers for the bank bond a few days later. He eventually did the bond and took the bank guarantee to Centrelink yesterday. Well yesterday (coincidentally) I got a reply email from the CO regarding my first email the beginning of July (15 days later!), re-assuring me that they are aware of the lengthy delays at Centrelink and that there isn't anything I can do but wait for them! So I wrote them an email to inform them that the AOS bond has been registered at Centrelink and that the people at Centrelink told my son that they don't anymore give any AOS Acceptance Letter (like the CO requested) to us. They said they register it directly on the system and the PVC should have it immediately available. With thousands of emails landing in the PVC mailbox every day, I don't know whether they will read my email before they see the update from Centrelink on their system. Only time will tell. We're cleaning and packing now and awaiting that last email for the payment of the 2nd Visa Application Charge (VAC). Will let you know when that happens. We'll postpone buying our flight tickets until the visa is granted. Don't want to stress if they delay issuing it and we have a flight to catch!! But every time the processing times increase, I run for the Scotch and "treat" myself. Thank you for your very informative update, much appreciated. We were thinking of the possibility of switching but if that puts us back at the end of the queue then it will be irrelevant. I wish we had known when we submitted the application that there was a substantial difference between the 173 and 143. At least I feel now that we are armed with much more knowledge, and so we can actually start planning around a date, as opposed to the waiting game we have been playing before. I notice even there they haven't updated it since 14 June (for month ending 31 May 2017). I just received a reply from WA Parents: OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (subclass 143/173) When your application is allocated to an assessing officer, you or your authorised contact may be asked to provide more documents, including but not limited to, Assurance of Support (subclass 143 only), police certificates and health clearances to finalise your application. We are currently assessing applications lodged up to and including 25 November 2014. On 29 May 2017 they were still on 13 Oct 2014 That is one of the best averages that I have seen for a long time. They Progressed 43 days during the past 64 days. That is an average of 1.49 days to progress 1 assessment day. They are 5 Months away from my file.(25 April 2015). Dirkz Posted August 2, 2017 Report Share Posted August 2, 2017 Hi all, yes it is nail biting time now for us. We are waiting for our CO to request the final payment - 2nd VAC. According to the latest processing times we are actually overdue by almost 3 weeks. We can only contribute it to Centrelink who took very long to contact my son, our assurer, for the interview and subsequent registering the bond with Comm Bank. I have sent PVC another email this morning confirming the bond registration with Centrelink a few weeks ago with proof from the bank, in case they are still waiting and not checking their system. According to Centrelink they register the acceptance of AOS directly on the PVC / Immi system and don't give you an AOS Acceptance Letter anymore, although in the last email from our CO, an AOS Acceptance Letter was requested. Thanks for the happy update In order to establish the length of time that they took to progress its better to take the date furthest back from their most recent known date. The furthest back, that they were on 13 Oct 2014, that I personally have, is 29 May 2017.I therefore can say that they took at least 64 days to progress from 13 Oct 2014 to 25 Nov 2014. If we used 10 July 2017 it will mean that they only took 22 days to progress the 43 days....which is not the case. I will be grateful if anybody has an email response from WA Parents earlier than 29 May 2017 , that indicates that they are working on 13 October 2014 . For example: This year : since 16 Jan 2017 the ave for them to do 1 day is 1.91 days. Your total stats 13 Sep 2016 to 4 April 2017 : the ave is 2.13 days. Your stats above but up to 1 Aug 2017 :the Ave is 2.02 My total Stats From 20 April 2015 to 1 Aug 2017: the Ave 1.76 Here we can see that they were much quicker in then. We can see that so far this year 2017 they took an Ave 1.91 days to progress 1 day. However this excludes their holiday period. BUT the reason for my optimism is that over the last two months they suddenly done :Ave 1.49 days. I don't wish to dampen any spirits, but it is a rather shortish period to use and possibly there was a hitch before they reported or perhaps they ran short of places before the "allocation year end" etc etc. Unfortunately this is the only thing that I can do my planning on and I will be watching their progress closely. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
