ptlabs
Guys also note if it is for a current position, they will calculate your experince till the date that is on the letter...menaing that if you managed to get a letter 3 months ago, you send your app, they will calculate your exp till 3 months ago. So try to get a current ref letter with the latest date before sending your app if you have issues with total years of exp.Yes, that's absolutely right.More importantly, I note that some RSA reference letters have the habit of not being dated at all, so work references for the applicant's present role ("from <date> to the present moment") becomes meaningless if no date is put on the letter.RegardsPeterRegistered Migration Agent, Sydney NSWhttp://ptlabs.com.au/
Biker
Applicants with vendor qualifications MCSE, MCSD, CLP and CNE gained from 1997, and CDE , Master CNE , CNI , CCE , and OCM gained from 2004, and MCPD and MCITP gained from 2007, CISA and CISM gained from June 2007Can you smell microsoft in there? At the last count (way back) an MCSE will set you back R9 -12 000.My SAP certification set me back R47 000 before MCSE was even an option. Yet it is not recognised despite it being in the market a lot longer than microsoft and also internationaly acknowledged. Then on the DIAC website it states that because my skill is on the MODL I will get preferential treatment when I apply. Uhhhmm.... is that gonna happen only when a case officer eventually get my file after 9 months and than fast track it from say 6 weeks to 4 weeks? Duhh...... CTFamily
Back from a break from the forum - was feeling like I'm never going to get this visa thing right so just threw up my hands in despair and gave up for a couple of weeks!Biker - SO annoying the SAP certification thing. As I said before I have a Biology degree which is useless in the scheme of things so I have to do an RPL. It's taking for flipping ever as I can only do it in the evenings after the kids are in bed. I specialise in IS Retail which is globally short-skilled but after 20 odd courses, 4 certifications and 8 full implementations I have to rely on my ability to write a chatty RPL!! Arrgggghhhhhh!! Please Woolworths Aus go SAP and not Oracle, please, please, please and choose me to lead your retail implementation team - you won't regret it - promise!!! Anyway - I have obviously spent all of tonight on facebook and done nothing on the RPL so have made no progress...again.Any more SAP consultants out there? Successfully completed the RPL? Got +ve feedback?Tracey
Biker
I spent the last month every weekend trying to do the damn thing.Olkabolka's husband on here gave me some pointers and together with the list as long as my forearm on the ACS website on what to write and what not, I have finished mine. Now this week I have to send it in and throw another $400 at it. UUUrgghhhhh!I'm trying my damnest to hold on till the big day, but I feel I'm slowly losing my grip. I don't wanna watch news any more, cause I just start swearing. Driving to work, short of spitting in my own visor, I swear at every taxi doing just whatever they feel like. At work, I'm trying my best not to loose it if the new SA is sleeping behind their desks (this is the honest truth), or playing games on PC or surfing the net. And poor me is trying to kill the fires cause I have to reach a deadline that is impossible to meet with this people.Red nou 'n Nasie met 'n Volk soos die! ! ! Ek kannie meer nie. Sarel Seemonster
To all who need assistance with their RPL application I would like to recommend speaking to Peter at Ptlabs:Registered Migration Agent, Sydney NSWhttp://ptlabs.com.au/I have 9 years SAP experience and am SAP Certified (ABAP). My application was approved no more than 4 weeks after submission. This guy was absolutely great. His replies to any questions are very prompt and it was a great pleasure working with him. He knows all the "tricks in the book" so to speak and is very knowledgeable about the whole application process.Good luck to all with their applications!Sarel
Cramer
Hi BikerI feel your Pain, My MCSE that I got in 1998 is worth more than my last 5 years study towards a Bsc In Computer Science. 20 Modules finished 10 to Go so no Degree, its worthless until completed. I have to agree with the Sea Monster Peter at PTlabs has been great with my initial assesment and on the ball. I just dont have the money at the moment for him to do my assesment. Rand Dollar exchange is a killer.Hang in there dude there are enough of us here rooting for you.
BloemBoi
It does seem that ACS RPL is not for the faint hearted and that you need to be meticulous and must be able to persevere! It should be known as the vasbyt thread then..... eish there I had given away my age! LPH
I am also in SAP, but luckily my wife has a degree in IT, so I did not have to go RPL. It does mean we do not get MODL points, but that is OK with me for not having to do the RPL. We got positive ACS in just under 2 months...Also, we submitted our 175 via our agent on thursday last week, and DIMA asked for medicals today (3 days later). I suppose that's a good sign.Good luck to all the RPL'ers!! Edited August 5, 2008 by LPH

Apparently it is up to the vendors to get the certs on that list. The process is not driven from acs. So if your cert is not on there blame your vendor.Bloody lazy RedHat bastards. Dreams
Hi, I need a little bit of help, please.1) What is the best way to pay ACS for my skills assessment? Can I give them my master card number and trust that noboby steel it or is it better to go to my bank (Standard bank) and transfer the $400?2) Which courier is the best to use to send my application to Sydney? I am in Centurion.
Maggel
Hi Godan,Credit card is fine, you need to sign your concent on their application for a specific amount. I have not yet heard about people having problems with this, they need your signature to do the transaction. You could use postnet DHL , we send ours registered post, as that was what they prefered ( said so on their website) , it took 2 weeks to reach them, but we were not in a hurry. So if time is of importance to you, DHL it to them, it is a bit more expensive, ours cost R125.00 registered post , and with DHL it would have costed over R500.00. We did the RPL route, so a lot of paperwork.Good luck

I am in Centurion.Hi Godan,1) I opened a Virgin Credit Card (for free), set the limit to almost R0.00, and transferred the $400.00 + some extra for in case and used that card on my applications, in order to limit the risk, but had no issues.2) I used standard registered post from the post office. (They say somewhere on their site that they prefer registered letters instead of a courier), I think it cost less than R 80.00Martin. bitisbitis
Credit card is nor problem. Used Dawn Wing for the initial and then sent the extra documents via the post office door to door delivery. Dawn wing was just under R400.00 and Postnet was about R100.00 cheaper. I have never worked so hard on writing something as I did for my RPL.... 2 weeks of night time hell.... lol
