Thanks Kirsty! My husband is diabetic, so I'm worried that the finalization of the medicals will take long. We have, however, already included a specialist report in our medicals.

W2L, it seems you know people in some places! Wow, that was fast.

Ok, I am now tired of waiting. We lodged 25 July.

The health requirements were finalised 9 September.

When the visa is granted, did you receive an email or did you just see it on the status enquiry site?

I first saw on the website, then the next morning got an email.

Arlene, are they still waiting to approve your employers? You do seem to wait a bit longer than usual

Ok, thanks San.

No, the nomination was successful. I only applied after that was approved.

I did the medicals a bit late. It reached them 1 September and was finalised 9 September.

So I thought that it should now be approved around 1 -2 weeks after medicals finalised.

I really hope it will come through by the end of next week.

I have heard that it can take up to 3 months. I'm hoping mine takes max 2 months.

We had an offer on our house last week so I'm hoping that their bond gets approved and we have our money before we leave.

Hold thumbs that the timing is right for us. Luckily the company isn't putting any pressure on us to get to Aus quickly.

If all goes well we hope to be in Darwin sometime between mid Nov to 1 December.

Hi! thanks san for that. Will call them tom and plead urgency. Will keep you posted.

A - as far as i know it takes 4 days from when your medicals are finalised. Our agent only allowed us to lodge from then and it took 16 days. I would guess that you can expect yours next Firday? We also received a letter, but only one day after the site showed the visa as having been approved.

Hope this helps :ilikeit:

We have landed in Brisbane at last, we just psent 6 weeks touring around New Zealand waiting for this visa. We think it went qickly as Craig's start date is 22/9/2008 and this was indicated on the application and everything else was 100% correct.

Our container is packed in Cape Town ready to go that should be next week.

Thank you all for your support and holding thumbs for those that are still waiting!!

We found this awsome landing accommodation 40 mins north of Brisbane CBD it is worth the commute as it is a granny flat on someones house sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids fantastic welcoming family they even collected us from the airport.

The cost is $250 per week you will no get better than that!!

Hi guys! This will prob be the last time I get to post till in Aus (cant believe I am saying that :ilikeit: ) and am connected.

Our passports took 4 days with VFS - YAY! They did send them to their PTA branch instead of to Rosebank and we had a tough afetrnoon of driving around for them. But its all good. When you call VFS to find out if they have arrived confirm their location :rolleyes:

Hubby, myself and and our little one (17 months) land in Perth Friday where we will spend the week end with close friends. Then its off to Brisbane on Monday. Lookign forward to it. Too excited at this point to worry about adjusting, settling in, etc

Chat soon and good luck with all your plans
