PieterK
How important is the payslip from the current employer? My payslips are all in Afrikaans so I will have to get them translated before I can use them. Does anybody know of an official translater in South Africa? They insisted that I get the latest payslip I had. I wanted to use the one I had from December 2008 but they wanted my Jan 2009 one instead. PS...we Lodged today!!!! JacquesV
Hi guys,For those that have lodged online...when your status was "Application received - processing commenced" and you clicked on the "View Document Checklist" link, did the status of all your docks say "Required"?Note: This is after you've uploaded everything (our agent did ours online).I queried this with my agent and they sent me proof that they did indeed upload all documents. According to them this status only changes once a CO starts looking at the docs. Has this been your experience to date?
Dirk and Mandy
Hi everyone!Jacques and Natalie - we had exactly the same situation. It took about 2 months for all of our documents to reflect as being recieved even though we knew for a fact that they had been uploaded first time round. Hang in there, it does all sort itself out! Kit
Quick (dumb?) question: we just did our application, and I just wanted to know what 'processing commenced' meant.I've just uploaded everything except for PCC, medicals and form 80 - there isn't anywhere that says form 80 is requested but it has it listed in the 'attachment list' so no worries.I can't believe we've done it!! Onix
Yes, quite nerve wrecking entering that credit card number! Processing commenced simply means they've received your application. Now the waiting starts. Ours said processing commenced from the day we lodged until nine months later when it changed to processing further, that's when we got our CO.All the best! Michele R
I'd say complete and upload form 80, they asked us to fill it out. Although, a day later we got our visa, so I don't think it'll hold up your visa for that long. All the best!
Kit
Ok - another question: Form 1221 - hubby's acknowledgement email mentions it, but I haven't seen any clear answer on here whether it's needed or not. Is it one of those things you just fill in and upload without needing to, for the sake of having put EVERYTHING possible up?
Guest Gatvol Gewag
Hi Everyone,Can someone please assist me with the following:We lodged our 175 application December 2008 but on ASCO code for Financial Manager which is not on the CSL list anymore. Subsequently I have had my skills assessed as an Accountant, redone my IELTS test to get at least 7 in each ban as well as my own and my husband's passport numbers changed. I see on the DIAC website there is a form for change of passport numbers but does anyone know which form you complete or what the process is to change your ASCO code on your application and to submit the new IELTS test result?Thank you - will appreciate feedback - and apologies if this question has been answered before. pkn
I am not sure that DIAC will acommadate a change in nominated occupation as a change in details. Its a whole new application that awaits you, thats my guestimate.
IslandStyle
I'm so sorry to tell you this but unfortunately you'll have to do what I am attempting... lodge a brand new shiny 175 visa application! Isn't that just great? Good luck.

Gatvol GewagI also applied in December 2008 and selected the wrong nominated occupation for CSL. In June 2009 I downloaded form 1023 from the www.immi.gov.au and changed my nominated occupation and emailed it to adelaide.gsm.documents@immi.gov.au. My application was then put on the CSL queue. Did not cost me a cent.NOTE however that my ACS assessment did specify Computer Professional (nec) which was on the CSL. At the time of my application I selected Analyst Programmer which was taken off the CSL/MODL list in January 2009.So yes, it can be done and you should not need to do another application. IslandStyle
Interesting. Just to confirm, you changed your nominated occupation based on a skills assessment result obtained before the date of the application? I don't think it is possible to change your nominated occupation based on a skills assessment result obtained after the date of the application, which is what Gatvol Gewag (and I) would like to do.Thank you Triple-S, did not know something like that is possible. Any new assesments by ACS, and change to nominated occupation will have to be new application, unfortunately.
Ann
Hi all,I applied for our 175 online the 2nd September. Everything went smoothly. I also attached scanned copies of the following documents:Birth certificates for everyoneCopy of page of passport containing personal detailsEvidence of IELTS testEvidence of wifes qualifications (degree)Evidence of my own qualifications (degree)Evidence of my skills assessmentEvidence of my work experienceOur Marriage certificatePassport photos of everyoneAfter applying I got an automated email saying that my application has been received and that I should give them the following documents within 28 days. All of the above mentioned documents where asked just as I expected. The weird thing is they also listed the following ones:Form 160EH - Radiologist report on chest x-rayForm 26EH - Medical examination for an Australian visaCharacter assessmentI was always under the impression one had to wait with these until instructed by your CO to get them. I did a bit of research and found that they say on the 175 document checklist the following:"Health (do not undertake until requested to do so)" and "Character (do not apply for police clearances until requested to do so)"I also found it on their website:"When do I visit a panel doctor? You should not have your visa medical examination until you have been formally requested to do so by the office processing your visa application."I then went and posted the question on their website as a post-application question. I received a reference number and everything stating that someone will look at my question soon. It has now been almost two weeks and have not heard anything from them. What to do? Listen to the automated email or follow my gut and wait for someone to contact me and ask for these?Ideas please...StefHi We also got that message, it means you have a CO, go ahead and get all the things done.Ann

Gatvol GewagHi pkn and Island Style,What do you think? I've sent DIAC a Form 1022 Change of circumstances including my Occupation change - this was the reply:"Thank you for advising that your nominated occupation is on the Critical Skills List. We can confirm that this information has been noted on your file."Do you think somewhere down the line they will actually ask me to send them a whole new application?RegardsGatvol Gewag

I did not think they were capable of providing such a clear statement. I always get responses that seem either computer-generated or advise me that I should contact DIAC instead - perhaps I'm not asking the right questions hey?I honestly wouldn't know if/how that will influence your current application. I highly doubt that you will be asked to lodge a new application - doesn't make sense and the system doesn't work like that. Besides, the response states it has been noted in your file - so it should not pertain to any possible future application, in my opinion.I would be surprised if they will handle your application as a CSL, but you never know. They might just ignore it or perhaps you are extremely lucky and don't know it... yet. ;]
Kit
If you nominate an ASCO code, do they check to see whether it's on the CSL or do you have to somehow bring it to their attention? Hubby's profession was put as "computing professional not e/where classified"... the ACS letter does stipulate that he's a C#/C++ specialist. He did tick 'yes' at the question about whether his profession is on the MODL, but what of the CSL?
