I think we must keep our eyes on the processing of the paper applications

"Skilled Migration visas - All paper based applications for Class BN, BQ, BR, UX and UZ visas Subclasses 134, 136, 137, 138, 139, 495 and 496: 28 May 2007"

the date for these applications are moving , not as fast as we wish, but I think when this date reach 1 September 2007 it will be the end of this backlog and maybe they will start spending some time on the applications lodged after this date. It seems that they first want to sort out this backlog and there were no more applications of this type after 1 September.

:blush:

Thanx TheB's

Not good news. Not what my "cosmic supporters" told me would happen ! I was so looking forward to a jump, even just one day would have been better than nothing.

Hi y'all,

No progress from last week for either e-lodged or paper based applications submitted after 1 Sept 07. Priority date for "175-types" lodged before 1 Sept 07 has moved from 28 May 07 to 5 June 07.

Hi guys, please don't forget to update your details at http://www.freewebs.com/saaustraliaforum/ so that we can see how things are progressing for us South Africans.

I am worried that it takes longer for us because we are a 'high risk' country. :ilikeit: I would love to see that some people in November on the 175/176 have got COs or visas!

Thanks Sasher

PROVIDING EVIDENCE OF COMMENCING HEALTH, CHARACTER AND IELTS REQUIREMENTS

Applicants requested to provide health, character, or IELTS testing results

to support their application do not need to provide copies of receipts

unless specifically asked to do so; however, you do need to advise this

office:

1. The examination dates for medical checks;

2. The police clearances applied for and the date the application was

made;

3. The details of any IELTS test/s booked including test dates and the

name and location of the test centre.

Provided that you do this before the due date in any request letter from

the department you do not need to request an extension of time if you are

waiting to receive police clearances or IELTS results.

Finalising Applications

Please note that the information provided above is not about the time it

will take to process an application to completion. The time it is expected

to take to process a General Skilled Migration visa application to

completion is detailed in the department's service standards. Service

standards are specified for applications lodged with complete

documentation. Individual cases may take longer than the service standard

depending on the completeness and complexity of the case. For further

information on service standards see:

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-ski...r-you-lodge.htm

We are really going to lose our minds.

At the rate this is going we will be lucky to get the VISA's in the 12 month period my agent said. It is terrible to be living in limbo on a daily basis.

Have faith.

I am convinced that when there finally is an update, its going to be streets ahead. There are still people being processed during this time, so I can only assume that the weekly updates are not being updated. When they do update them, I'm confident that we will be in for a nice surprise. :boxing:

(Basically, if I dont keep the faith i'm going to go off my @#$%$#@ rocker!!!!)

As we've said many times before, just when we think we can see a pattern or reason as to how processing is done, they change the game ... so much for them clearing the backlog on pre 01 Sept - no movement for 136 this week ... that clocks us at week 50 since application :boxing:
