CSL applicants are expecting to wait between 7-9 months (based on previous CSL applicants' experience). Therefore it is very reasonable for us to expect to have received some sort of feedback at 5 months. I understand the frustration of circumstances changing and waiting periods being extended due to unforeseen changes made by the DIAC. CSL applicants would also be frustrated if some change forces us to wait longer. However, then our expectations would change and our impatience would have to change accordingly. I totally feel for the people who were on MODL and then got the bad news that they aren't on the CSL list and I realise there are people who have been waiting for much longer. I just asked because things were moving quite quickly at some stage and now it seems to have slowed down. Thanks Emile, you summed up perfectly what I meant!We've got to plan ahead for the future and I guess, like everyone else, we're just trying to figure out some type of timeline for ourselves. Hubby s currently studying this year, so we need to try and figure out if he should apply for jobs in SA now or in Aus. Natalie and I are in no rush to leave any time soon as we still have business and property interests which we'll only start winding down towards the beginning of next year. At the earliest we'll leave late/end of 2010 but most probably scoot over for a LSAD (Look See Already Decided) before our entry date expires (once the visa comes through). We're hoping that our visa only gets granted very late this year or possibly early next year thus we'd then not need to go over just to validate.I understand how most are feeling in regards to "it must happen yesterday....why is it taking so long...what is wrong". I however have a different take on life and expectations. The things that are in my control have been the past 34 years leading up to us making the decision to move, doing all the leg work (including going to study further 3 years back just to qualify for the skills assessment - didn't want to do RPL) , filling in all the paper work and then applying for the visa... From that point I've done all I can to prepare and nothing more is in my control. Your preparation and fate (or your deity) will then decide when and where life will lead you from there. It's like throwing a ball at the stumps. Things that are in your control is your balance, grip on the ball, the motion of our body and arm as you try guiding the ball into a direction....but once that ball leaves your finger tips you cannot influence it's motion any further nor will it onto the stumps. Your throwing action as well as external forces come into play (wind, gravity ect....) and that alone will decide whether the ball hits it's target and the bails are dislodged! I therefore see no reason to work myself into an excited frenzy of sorts, stressing about the "what ifs" and "whens" and rather rely on the prep work and then let things take it's course.This is purely my personal view on life and in no way a dig at anyone on this forum! Diveup Posted August 27, 2009 Report Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hi,I received this email today from my migration agent.The Migration Institute of Australia today issued the following update on processing times for the General Skilled MIgration Scheme Visas ( 175, 176, 475)."The Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre ( ASPC) in a typical week is allocating approximately 700 applications to visa officers. This is made up as follows:Approximately 450 : 176 /475 State Sponsored visa applicationsApproximately 150: Critical Skills ApplicationsApproximately 100: Applications not coverd by S499 direction.The ASPC is currently allocating Critical Skills Applications that have been submitted between November 2008 and January 2009 depending on the processing teams. The processing teams deal with applicants from particular countries or regions." No dates have been given for applications being allocated under the 176/475 scheme. Applications not sponsored by a State, Employer or where the occupation is not on the Critical Skills List are currently not being processed. No indication has been given by the ASOC as to when processing will begin again.Please bear in mind that each application is an individual application and takes into account the individual circumstances of an applicant. Applications submitted on the same date might not be processed at the same time.
