Its just that the DIAC stated that all applicants on the CSL list will be allocated a case officer by 29 May 2009. From the list you'll notice however that there's quite a bit of CSL applicants that don't have a CO assigned yet. They are obviously not going to make Friday's deadline.By the way, I lodged a post-application query on DIAC's website on Friday to ask them when I'll have a case officer. The reply this morning was a one liner: "At this stage your file has not been allocated to a case officer"...and the wait continues... I did fire off one of those no-subject-no-content emails to aspc.processing@immi.gov.au and here's an interesting extract from the reply email:"Priority Processing - Change From 1 January 2009Following recent announcements by the Minister for Immigration andCitizenship, in response to the current global economic environment,processing of General Skilled Migration applications gives first priorityto applications in the following two categories:1. Applications with a successful State or Territory Nomination; and2. Applications where the nominated occupation is identified on theCritical Skills List (CSL).Note: Due to the number of applications in the above two categories, onhand and being received, applications not on the CSL, or applicationswithout a successful State or Territory nomination, will be delayed untilthose applications which meet the processing priorities are finalised. Thisincludes those on the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL)"So, it would seem that we will still get priority processing beyond 29 May 2009 because of volumes. So basically anyone on the CSL/nominated people will have their applications processed quickly, if they're already onto the November/December folk? Wow that is quite a speed up.I really hope that they will have done everyone and got themselves up to speed by the time we apply - I don't think I could wait 2 years+ for a visa to be granted! Maybe you are one of those people who go straight to visa approved without ever being notified you have a CO. Did you front load your PCC's and Medicals? elleneo Posted June 7, 2009 Report Share Posted June 7, 2009 Perhaps hey...some of us have had co's for a while now (just over 3 weeks for me)...maby it has something to do with the financial year end hey?..but i see some peopl are still getting visas...someone got a state sponsor on the 5th of June i think...so they are still granting...Guess we all just have to be patient!! It took about 2 years for us from first deciding, to getting the CO. And it took 15 months between receipt of application to getting a CO. I think it took so long because of the more than 110 overseas trips that one of us did! It is the only explanation I can think of But it does not matter now any more to reason why it took so long.
