trying to update our process. We applied for Queensland sponsorship as my husbands job is no longer on the CSL. Application was received by them on the 6 April and have been told a 6-8 week wait. So here's to waiting, Again. Still. This process is driving us all to drink so I sure hope they have plenty of AA meetings in Oz, probably meet you all there. :ilikeit:

Where is our CO? Applied March 2008, rewrote IELTS, submitted new results greater than 7 per paper around Feb/March 2009. YET we have NO CO! With new results we are on 175 CSL, what happens, do we move to the bottom of the pile, despite application in March 2008?

Patience is difficult at this stage!

Hey all - new member here :lol:

This is such a helpful, informative forum, I'm looking forward to this journey with you all :)

We're in the process of preparing our application - waiting for ACS to do the skills assessment, and waiting for FRIGGIN' home affairs to hurry up with our unabridged birth certificates - it's been 12 weeks already and I'm phoning just about daily to bug them for it :lol: The IELTS has been done already thankfully.

Does it seem as if they are processing the 175 CSL visas quickly? I heard mention (on here? not sure - I've been trying to read up as much as possible) of a quota for these visas... I feel anxious because we'll only be able to apply a few months later (depending on ACS & home affairs). What happens if you apply and the quota has been reached - do they hang onto your application or do you get 'dropped' off their list and have to reapply the following year? :lol:

Is it recommended to get a PCC asap? Do they dawdle with them? Or is it a better idea to wait until it's requested - I've seen that a lot of people front-load their stuff or apply for PCC/medicals early and have to reapply which seems a waste. :lol:

Hey all - new member here ^_^

This is such a helpful, informative forum, I'm looking forward to this journey with you all :P

We're in the process of preparing our application - waiting for ACS to do the skills assessment, and waiting for FRIGGIN' home affairs to hurry up with our unabridged birth certificates - it's been 12 weeks already and I'm phoning just about daily to bug them for it :ilikeit: The IELTS has been done already thankfully.

Does it seem as if they are processing the 175 CSL visas quickly? I heard mention (on here? not sure - I've been trying to read up as much as possible) of a quota for these visas... I feel anxious because we'll only be able to apply a few months later (depending on ACS & home affairs). What happens if you apply and the quota has been reached - do they hang onto your application or do you get 'dropped' off their list and have to reapply the following year? :ilikeit:

Is it recommended to get a PCC asap? Do they dawdle with them? Or is it a better idea to wait until it's requested - I've seen that a lot of people front-load their stuff or apply for PCC/medicals early and have to reapply which seems a waste. :ilikeit:

Firstly, welcome to the Forum Kit.

Don't worry about only applying in a few months time. They will be handing out visas until they reach their quota for this year or until the end of the year at end of May. They start the year again on the first of July, so if you apply then, you might get in for that year's visa quota. You don't drop off the list and have to reapply, you just move into the next year's quota.

At the moment, state sponsored visas are a priority followed by the 175's who are on the Critical Skills List. We decided not to front load our PCC's and Health, we'll follow the list here until it gets a bit closer to us and then go for that.
