Cloudios Posted January 24, 2018 Report Share Posted January 24, 2018 Good morning Guys i have applied for a 189 independent visa on the 15th of November 2017 with 60 points i'm a instrumentation technician azsco code 342314 how are my chances of getting an invite?? i applied for a 190 visa for NSW on the 8th of January with 65 points including SS what are my chances?? You can then filter according to your occupation, state and number of points to see how other people in your category are progressing. Tntaglia Posted January 24, 2018 Author Report Share Posted January 24, 2018 It has been a while since anyone with only 60 points on their EOI received a visa invite for 189. 65 points with state nomination your chances are better, but I believe there occupation plays a big role. I'm no expert but from what I've read I think basically a state can have an occupation on their skills list without it being their most urgently required skill - so for state nomination you don't have the same sense that whoever applied first will likely be invited first. The actual number of points is also less important than occupation (so a highly needed occupation with 60 points can get state nomination before a less needed one with 70). Immitracker is a good tool but unfortunately it's crowdsourced which means the info is not always reliable and it is definitely not complete, so it's hard to say where you fit in. It is useful to see things like who got invited, time from EOI to invite / invite to CO contact etc. Good luck! I hope you hear something soon. I've added you to the table in the meantime. Whoop whoop!!!! Now I can turn 45 in 5 weeks and enjoy my birthday!! With the recent points increase for the 189, my agents recommended doing the 190 NSW and 489 Tasmania. Tasmania came back with an invite for a 190 instead of 489!!! Can you believe it!! Thank You God and thanks to all of you who were we praying, encouraging me and keeping fingers and toes crossed. I was weighing the pros and cons of a 489 and in my conversations with God, was telling Him/Her that this was going to be so difficult to manage in so many aspects but I will take what You give me and work with Your plan...and boom...God gives me the 190!
