Visas Lodged Oct/ Nov 2016

@planningahead Also found the Medicals far less stressful than expected. If it says no action required, means all good as far as I know. Have you got your PCCs yet?

@FingersCrossed Thank you for updating the table. Note that we submitted our final response with all documents on 2 December. Crossing fingers, legs and everything in between (hehe) that we get our visas in the next week or so.

Feeling really positive about 2017 :D #hopeful #faith #Oz2017

@Husky yes all my docs have been submitted and my final response to the CO was on 4 January.

I think our group will start seeing visas come through in the next week or so. I've been keeping an eye on myimmitracker and they have been slowly picking up speed since the Christmas period....

@HopefulJo and @Nickyvd, I see you still have to submit docs to your COs? Have you done this? Let me know and I will update the table ^_^

So we found out last week that our visas have been declined based on the medicals, we are a bit upset! They have given us 28 days to respond, but I am cautious about being optimistic that it will change.

If anyone has experience of the medical decision being changed please message me, we could really use the help!

Thanks

Hi @TracyClare

So sorry to hear that. What medical condition did they decline the medicals on?

On your immi account, were your medicals passed there ?

@FingersCrossed, my son has Asperger, ADD, and Dyslexia, on the immi account it said on his: wait to hear from the department, and everyone else said no further action required

Hi @TracyClare

Damn - I am sorry to hear that. I am no immigration agent however surely there is a way you can appeal that? Maybe a immigration lawyer can advise?

@TracyClare

So sorry. This must be very difficult for you. Are you using an agent?

Don't lose hope. Have heard of others making it through despite medical difficulties. Take care.

oh no, sorry @TracyClare did they specify? Is it the combination or mainly Aspergers?, cause i'm sure so many kids have ADD and dyslexia. Also I thought I've read about people passing despite autism.. Good luck with deciding what next! hope you can find good help.

Hi

Hope someone can answer this - just something I was thinking about.

If I look on the DIBP website for the processing times on a 190 visa, it says that the processing time is 3 months. So where did the 28 day thing come in?

https://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/skilled-migration-visa-processing-times

Or is the 28 days time the current average number of days that it is taking to get a response from immigration?

@FingersCrossed, I think everyone's been using the "28 days" based on the fact that the CO requests say you have 28 days to respond to the request and provide the documents.

In all honesty when I look at the data on myimmitracker I've never found a strong trend supporting the 28 days view people talk about on this forum. It can really take anytime between 2 weeks to 6 months to get a grant. I've seen cases where an application was lodged one week, the next week the CO requested information and two weeks after that the visa was granted. I've also seen cases where applications have been "assessment in progress" since July/August/September of last year (and ever before that).

The department states on their website that they try to process 75% of 189/190 cases within three months- that obviously leaves a lot of room for them to go over the three months.

But all this being said, the majority of cases on myimmitracker get attended to well within 3 months. The cases which take longer than three months are usually from countries like Syria, Russia, Pakistan and then also some Indian cases....

Hi @planningahead

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense on the 28 day time being related to the CO requests for information / to respond. I suppose all i can do at this time is give them time to process my application.

Hi everyone,

We also lodged our 189s in November (09/11/2016, CO assigned 30/11/2016, PCC, medicals and hubby's UBC requested). We managed to get most of the requested documents in order by the end of November but are still waiting for my elusive PCC. I received the sms from SAPS saying it was completed on the 1 Dec, but the agents are still trying to track it down- super frustrating.  Hope the rest of you start getting your responses soon. I feel like I can't think about anything else at the moment-living in total limbo!

Hi @Bobbin

I have updated the table with your information. I am sure that they will find your PCC's certificate soon and then you will be able to get your Visa application going.

Welcome @Bobbin

Living in limbo builds incredible patience, and it is incredibly hard.

Lost PCC? I am no expert but I would think they could just print a new one. If that isn't possible, can't you apply again. May take less time.

Take care.

Thanks @Husky! My agent doesn't seem concerned- the guy in charge of PCCs says that it just hasn't been sent down from the 8th floor, and that there is an entire batch they are still waiting for (sigh!). But thats good to know about the reprint, thanks!
