Ta2Bryan
@iambrettstar, this waiting is driving us nuts , and we lodged after you. We are now trying to decide between leaving June/July to get kids enrolled for term 3 (8 year old and 12 year old) or wait till the end of the year. (Obviously dependent on receipt of Visa) My boss also asked if I would consider staying till the end of year to train my replacements properly. The upside of postponing till the end of year is that I don't have to worry about when the visa will arrive anymore. Decisions, decisions? We had the same discussion, but have decided that we'll go over June/July, with the assumption that we'll have our visa by then. Our movecube is loaded and in storage, we've sold off everything, and are living in an apartment owned by my in-laws and driving a borrowed car, so we definitely feel like we're living temporarily. I'm not sure how we'll approach it if our visa hasn't been approved by then, if we stay for another term of school and live term-to-term, or if we wait until after Christmas. A definite upside as you say is not caring about when the visa comes, only that it does. The other upside is starting a new year in a new life with a clean slate. We're just so keen to get on with it though!
TamTam
The waiting does drive you crazy - living in limbo and not knowing how to plan for things. My little tot is not at school yet but I can only imagine with school going kids it's that much harder! I also totally understand wanting to just start the next chapter of your life already. I hope you both get your grants soon!

We sold our car to the father-out-law but am still driving it. Basically have beds, a couch and the the items that will be packed into the Movecube when we finally get the go ahead. MaryAnne86
Hi. We are living in the UK and are also waiting for visa approval subclass 189. Submitted our EOI on 18 Nov 2017 and was invited to apply on 22nd Nov and submitted our application on the 16th December. At the time of submission the estimate was 5-8 months, does anyone know if this is the most likely waiting period for us or does it change for everyone as they update the waiting periods? Hope that makes sense. Thanks

Thanks Someone else likened it to a queue - if you join a queue with 5 minutes waiting time, and then 10 million people line up behind you, the queue now has a 25 day waiting time. However, you're not 25 days away from the front of the queue - you're still 5 minutes away. So, that suggests that it would still be 5-8 months for you - with the caveats that those figures are 75-90% averages and that there's no real insight into how the processing is actually done, so no guarantees. TamLovesRic
@MaryAnne86 according to myimmitracker, they have only looked at applications that were lodged on or before 26 November 2017. They have not moved passed this point in about 4 weeks, it looks to me like they are processing all applications before this date before they move forward again. I imagine (hope) that once this back log is cleared that they will move quite quickly through the newer applications because the number of invites dropped quite dramatically from the first round in December. Hopefully it wont be too long for you now! 1
