iceogre007
Hi Everyone, When I was 11 I had a kidney operation, and my one kidney was bypassed (something in that line), don't know the procedure name. I don't know have any kidneys problems at all but just wondering. When we do our medicals, will this affect or even decline our medicals for a 189 visa? ChrisH
I seriously doubt it. Are you taking any medicine for this condition?
iceogre007
None what so ever, I did not even take anything directly after.
ChrisH
Then it will definitely not make a difference. They are only interested in past TB, Cancer, HIV and serious mental health issue and for current conditions they just want to know what prescription medicine you are on. Its about what it will cost the Aussie tax payer, nothing in your case!

Deezo
@iceogre007 i think you should just get a letter from your specialist who did the procedure and have them provide details as you may be asked for this All the best! Considering that they are now applying for their own visa, I think "when I was 11 years old" might have been some time ago, and this could prove difficult? I agree but they may be required to go and see a new specialist for a check-up so there is confirmation that all is in order, but hey im no Dr but trying to help them cover their bases upfront
ChrisH
This is the only question that might relate to this condition: History or informed of prolonged medical treatment and/or repeated hospital admissions for any reason, including a major operation or psychiatric illness. I would get the full proper name of the procedure that they did on you and just list it on the form. The thing with the Aussies is you have to be honest, so disclose it. If the panel doctor feels additional tests are required then he will refer you to a doctor to have them done.
