Sibella Posted August 15, 2012 Report Share Posted August 15, 2012 Ons het 'n anderdag die eerste keer biltong gemaak - ek het 'n kas in my laundry waar ek klere ophang in die winter en dit was 'n ideale plek om biltong te droog want die ducted heating blaas dit warm en droog van onder af. Maar 'n boer maak 'n plan.My recipe must be the simplest, but i took my Aussie neighbours to S.A. and Mozambique for a holiday a few years ago, and we stopped at every possible biltong outlet. They, and I reckon mine is better!Lay out your strips of silverside, and coat them liberally with salt a white pepper ONLY on both sides. Chuck them in a clean plastic bucket and let them marinate in their blood overnight. Make wire s's (hooks) and boil them. Place a laundry rack on a bed (protected with cardboard) directly under the ceiling fan. Hang the biltie. Turn the aircon on full-ball and close the door. The biltong (a bit wet inside) is ready in 3-5 days. No mould. Plain, grand beef biltong. My father-in-law made me a cutter, so i cut the whole lot & chuck it in the freezer.Too easy, mate. Ek sny myne moer duk sommer so 2.5cm partykeer! Los net daai Rump laat hy lekker droog word. Dun biltong noem hulle Chillie Bites regte Biltong is groot duk snitte met n' stuk Vet aan! Aanhouers wen! Ek weet van wat se tipe Vet jy praat, is heeltemal Droe vet glad nie olierig nie so lig geel amper Cream kleur?.Maak seker jy vryf jou spice lekker in veral op die vet, hy kort genoeg spice! Ek sal weer bietjie n' Batch maak dan sit on sbietjie fotos op en vergelyk, ek sal ook bietjie kiekies neem terwyl ek dit voorberei.Het jy bietjie "Bicarb" by jou spice gemeng?
