When your onshore visa is approved

When you finally get the letter to say that you have the visa and you need to go overseas to get it stamped.

Is it the cheapest to go to NZ to get it done, when we are in QLD?

How much time do they give you to do this? Cause you probably need to inform you employer about it and will be off work for a day or two - I hope!

Is the process of getting your passport stamped quite quick? Say we do it over a weekend, fly to Auckland on the Thursday, get visa the Friday and fly back the Sunday.

Hi Dedrei,

I'm not sure what you mean? If you have SA passports, you get the visa stamped in your passport at the local SA office (not sure where it is in CT, but it's in Rosebank in JHB). You take them your passport and they send it off on your behalf and you get it back within about 5-7 days.

Alternatively, if you are on a EU passport, then you can fly here without the visa in your passport (just carry a printed copy of the one that is emailed to you) and then get it stamped in your passport within a few weeks of arriving (can't rememeber the time limit on this...)

I think you need to re-read your docs and check out anything that seems odd with whoever is handling your visas. Drop me an email or a PM if you want me to dig further over here, OK?

Cheers

Ajay

Ok what I didn't say was - That we will coming through on 457 and will then apply for PR 136 onshore (like Riekie is doing now), when the time comes and we need to get visa in passport do we need to go overseas to get the visa stamped for PR visa, cause you can't be in oz at the time of visa grant or something like that I remeber.

Aaahh - that changes things:-) I thought you guys were coming here on a 457! I don't know the answer to that one, I'm afraid. I'll ask my guys on this side and let you know if I come up with something.

Cheers, Ajay

Ok now I totally screwed up the question, I need to remember to use punctuation, etc. I have edited my post so it makes more sense.

Hi Dedrei

Thanks Willem, gedink dis so iets gewees.

My man is motor mechanic so ons moet nog daar hele storie ook nog doen as ons daar kom.

Willem

Is julle 457 visa app al in, watter datum is julle s'n in?

Maar ek sal bietjie by my agent uitvind hoe dit werk en dan sal ek jou laat weet.
