Thnx for a great and informative site.

Hubby and I have finally decided to relocate. He is an electronic engineer and I a recruiter(hr).

Where to start with the process is the big question?? We are considering to apply for sponsored positions and at the same time start with the permanent visa application process.

Will keep you posted on how things progress. Hopefully we will be out of here soon.

Hi there,

And welcome!! We are not even a week older than you, but I can already tell you that you have found a fabulous resource in this forum.

I'm putting the effort in to contact people and to get my questions out there, and in return am already receiving so much info and help.

My man is an engineer and I received this lead for Eng this morning. Hope you can make use of it too.

Danie Pretorius put out an appeal for engineers of all kinds last year in about November. So..... you can contact him on this email address daniepretorius@hotmail.com

Cheers,

TereMel

Welcome!

It is quite an interesting and exciting time when you have to get everything ready! We've started in November 2007, so we are also still gathering all the documentation!

There is an excellent step-by-step procedure on this forum

http://www.saaustralia.org/index.php?showtopic=9251

For me the first step is to book for IELTS (if needed), because it seems to me they are quite fully booked.

Also apply for unabridged documents, as it takes a while....

Then you have to get your skills assessed. For engineers it goes quite quickly. See this topic for more information:

Shout if you need any help..

Hi,

We applied for all the relevant paperwork at foreign affairs. So now the waiting starts.

We also booked our IELTS. They are fully booked and I've been struggling to get hold of them the last few days to confirm the exam booking.

For our skills it is easy to get my husbands assessed. It is mine that we are not to sure about. I'm a psychometrist and for some reason I'm not finding the word psychometrist. Only psychologist - which I'm not qualified for. So where do I start the search for my skills?

Welcome!

Hi there,

Thnx I made the mistake of not only reading Book 5 but also Book 6. Book 6 are a little bit confusing at times but I'm sure we will find all the answers as we continue our search on this forum

Hi There

Here is some bedtime reading for you if you want to go on a PR sponsored visa (119)
