Stepchook Posted January 25, 2008 Report Share Posted January 25, 2008 not anymore - you can get the 175 visa within 6-9 months if you apply online, I believe.And if you go the state-sponsored route, it's even less time because you get priority processing. Something to consider.. Angel-LynnHi Angel-Lynn,The 457 subclass visa is a provisional visa which doesn't give you permanent residence, but is valid for four years. What you are allowed to do is apply for one of the permanent residence visas concurrently. If you do it that way, then the fact that you have a 457 visa means that you'd get extra points on your PR visa because of your job offer.The beauty of a 457 visa is that you'd be outta here much quicker.
