HI Guys

Just found out something really interesting. :whome:

I have had my tonsils taken out when I was 3. now the aussies don't take your tonsils out anymore (they used to before). So I have a few colleagues that still have their tonsils, one just had very bad tonsilitis. :whome:

This is just bit weird that they don't remove your tonsils here in Aus? What you guys think? Do you still have yours?

Cheers

Hi :whome:

Dis nou interessant. Ekke het nog my mangels.

Ek kon nie glo dat so 'n klein dingetjie so pynlik kon wees nie.

Sterkte! :whome:

Groete,

Kannidood.

Nie eers as jy mangelonsteking kry nie. So ek weet nie jong.

Hiya

I think its very much dependent on the doctors you see - my daughter had hers out earlier this year in Brisbane - she was only 18 months old at the time.

For anyone suffering from tonsilitis and worried, I think there's a "rule of thumb" that you have to have had 5 bouts of tonsillitis in a year, or they must be chronically infected and not responding to antibiotics. Can have it done for free on the public system, but if you see an ENT privately first you'll be able to skip the queue a bit and still be operated on for free in a public hospital.

Ginnie had tonsilitis as a teacher. It got to be that bad that she even go to know the signs of it beforehand and would get a prescription from the doc.

Eventually, she was battling with it about half a dozen times a year. The local doc recommended going into the Royal Hobart Hospital to have them scraped away.

She doesn't suffer with tonsilitis any longer since.

That was 1993.

I'm an oldie and still have my tonsils. I've never had a day's problems either. I also have my appendix.

Hallo daar,

My kind s'n het teruggegroei.
