Medicare

Hi all,

We went to the doctor this week and the consultation cost us $50-00. We paid the cash upfront and received an invoice and receipt.

The next day, I went to the local Medicare office with the above paperwork. I expected to be told to complete a form, give bank details and wait a couple of weeks for the rebate.

I explained to the lady at the counter that this was my first time claiming and could she please tell me if I should complete a form as I didn't know what procedure to follow. She said all she needed was my Medicare card and the doctors receipt. I produced the card and receipt and to my surprise she printed out a slip, gave it to me to sign, opened up a drawyer and handed me back $32-10! This blew my socks off!

Wow, the speed and efficiency of Medicare.... I like it
