Wow, fantastic Ms Kelly! :P

http://www.smh.com.au/news/business/westpa...6857771187.html

She will be the first woman to run one of Australia's top 10 companies as measured by stock market capitalisation.

Ms Kelly and husband Allan are parents to Sharon, 21, and triplets Sean, Mark and Anne, who are 17.

Ms Kelly began her banking career in 1980 as a teller in South Africa at Nedcor. After migrating to Australia in 1997 she became head of the Commonwealth Bank's customer service division, moving to St George in late 2001 as boss.

Cool bananas for Gail Kelly! Not bad for a teller from Pretoria! :P:PB)

But Charl, I can't help saying, I wish the woman would give up on the pastel Nelson Mandela collar suits and get a stylist! She can afford it!

Thanks for that Springbok!

I work in the fin serv industry so it is good to see Saffers doing well for themslves.

To add to that there is a very young Saffer running the largest mining cpy in the world, i.e. the iconic BHP Billiton with its headcourters in Melbourne - see http://www.bhpbilliton.com/bb/investorsMed...ersAsNewCeo.jsp

Yes great for him to be in charge of the world's largest diversified mining company! But when it comes to their personal financial affairs, Marius Kloppers and Gail Kelly are being dwarfed by another ex-South African, Kerr Neilson. Mr Neilson is now one of Australia's wealthiest people, worth roughly $3 BILLION, after listing his company Platinum Asset Management on the ASX:

I love the fact that he's low-key and not flashy at all, just like Warren Buffett.
