Vossie Posted April 27, 2006 Report Share Posted April 27, 2006 HI DedreiHoop julle is nou al gesettle en baie gelukkig.Vossie sou gaan werk in Townsville maar dit het deur die mat geval. Hy is nou in Brisbane en het werk gekry in Rockhampton. Ons kan nie wag om te gaan. Coert Botha van die Afrikaanse Klub het hom ongelooflik baie gehelp en miskien moet iemand probeer om Coert te oorreed om hier ook te contribute. Hy het 'n magdom inligting en ongelooflik baie kontakte. Hy het regtig vir Vossie baie gehelp.Hy het sy inligtingstuk opdateer en het ook 'n ding oor vliegtips. Ek wil dit nie graag self doen nie want dit voel amper soos plagiaat om sy klub se goed hier te 'publiseer', maar dat hy 'n aanwins is om te ken is verseker. Laat weet asseblief vir my wat jy dink van die pryse van yskaste, wasmasjien ens want die ouens met wie ons praat se dis duur en ons moet hier klaar koop. Wat kos linne, en kyk solank watter kos is lekker en hou ons op hoogte op die forem. Dan kan ons terwyl baat uit julle sleg eet. HA HA!Baie dankie vir al jou posts op die forum. Hulle is vir my nogal cheaper as www.harveynorman.com.auAl wat ek kan sê is dat die beddens en matrasse nogal duur is. Linne, hang af waar jy koop. As jy by Big W of Target of Kmart koop dan kan jy reasonably priced linne kry en nie worry oor thread count nie. Target supply wel ook die hoër thread count linne ook. Dis 'n kwessie van shop around. By Good guys is daar specials op was masjiene ens. vir 'n LG 9kg frontloader en 5kg dryer allles in een masjien kos dit $1499. Dan is daar 'n 6kg toploader vir $599 onbekende brand, Samsung 7kg front loader vir $590. Whirpoorl 5.5kg frontloader $499. Tumble dryer vir $399 vir 'n 4.5kg. LG intellowasher front loader 7.5kg $699.By Target kan jy vir jou 'n duvet cover set koop, vir so $95.20 vir 'n queen set. Die duurste een wat ek sien in die brochure is so $103.20 vir queen. Dis nie so klein as wat ek aanvanklik gedink het nie en ons like dit baie. Ek is mal oor Target. Kan verewig daar staan en rond loop. Dus sal jou SA paslakens oor die algemeen nie pas nie. Mara Posted April 28, 2006 Report Share Posted April 28, 2006 For those that are interested, SA beds are 15cm shorter than standard Aussie beds, therefore your SA fitted sheets will not fit an Aussie bed, just as Dreamcatcher has said. If you bring SA beds, make sure you have enough linen to last you for the bed's lifetime. I bought a brand new Speed Queen washer and dryer before we left SA and had to have repairs done here. Absolutely no problem with the guarantee, the repairman just checked the machines identification number, emailed the USA, and hey presto, the only thing I had to pay for was his call out fee! I would be wary about buying a SA produced machine, it will be highly unlikely that anybody in Australia is going to be willing to repair it for you if you pick up problems with it. Fridges or freezers are not a problem, as it is just the generator usually that packs up and needs replacing and for that they can use any brand of generator, as long as it is just the correct rating. Ek het nuwe beddens omtrent 'n jaar terug gekoop so ek sal nou moet gaan linne koop, en dit was nogal iets wat ek oorweeg het om maar daar te gaan koop!Sal dit 'n probleem wees as ek nou nuwe yskas ens hier koop terwyl ek die Rande het, dit klink vir my maar duur as ek die goed omwerk in Rand??? Of is dit juis dat dit duur klink omdat ek nie moet omwerk? Wat is die algemene gevoel, ek het plek in die container.Gaan ek nie moet belasting betaal omdat dit nuwe goed is nie? Ek het op my papiere aangedui my goed is nuut, a.g.v. versekeringseis, en niemand het my eers iets daaroor gevra nie. Ek het wel al die papierwerk gehad om dit te bewys. Die raad wat ek gekry het, is om nie die nuwe goed in hulle oorspronklike verpakking te hou nie, aangesien dit dalk moeilikheid kan veroorsaak. As jou goed in elk geval vervang moet word, het jy 'n voet om op te staan indien iemand jou sou vra oor die nuwe goed. As jy rande het, is dit beter om in rande te koop. Dit is baie geld as jy dit moet moet omskakel. As jy dollars verdien, is dit beter om jou goed hier te koop. Dit is regtig hartseer as jy sien hoe jou randjies ingesluk word deur die duur dollar hier. Ek het my ou sat wasmasjien en tuimeldroër saamgebring, as hulle breek, dan gooi ek dit op die ashoop. Ten minste hou hulle nou al sowat 5 maande, en elke ekstra maand is 'n bonus. Maar as jy nuwes wil koop en saambring, maak maar net seker dat dit wel hier gediens kan word.Aangesien jy plek in die container het, bring alles saam wat jy kan. Jy kan altyd hier weggooi wat jy nie wil hou nie. Ek is bitter spyt oor al my goed wat ek agtergelaat het. Ek was te gretig om nuut te begin. Nou mis ek items wat al so lank deel van my lewe was, en ek het nooit besef dat dit so belangrik was vir my nie. Soos my ou spieëlkas. Dit was vir my so vanselfsprekend om elke dag daarin vas te kyk, en ek was al moeg vir die ou ding. Hi there,I have a bed bought in South Africa and also have one which we bought in Australia, both double beds. They are exactly the same size. I also use my SA linens on both beds without a problem.I don't know if there could be a difference in the sizes of the Aussie beds in the different states - doubt it though. It's the king single and the queen - and king sizes that are a bit longer and where you will have problems. Our SA single fitted sheets fit the single beds here, however they didn't fit the king single sizes. But our fitted queen size sheets were too short for our Aussie queen size bed. Not a whole lot, but enough to be a nuisance. The Aussie fitted sheets are fabulously wide and fit comfortably with no slipping off corners or the like.The frilled continental pillow cases do seem to be a problem.
