A question for the ladies

Ladies, I need a recommendation for a gynae in Perth, preferably North of the River. I had a partial molar pregnancy a couple of years ago (non-malignant fortunately), and am required to go for an annual check-up, including an ultrasound to make sure the "mole" hasn't regrown. I'm due for a check up, but don't know any gynae's. I'm not fussy about men or women docs (in fact, I've had better treatment from my male doctors than females), and nor am I fussy about whether they are South African. I just need someone who is thorough, and not too expensive (we are on private health, no Medicare benefits).

I had a great gynae in South Africa, he was old-fashioned in many ways, but always thorough and up to date in his knowledge and always polite/respectful, but at the same time knew how to make you relax with an appropriate joke.

Sorry, haven't been to a gynae here. Ask Lindy-Lee or Michelle as they both live North of the river and have had or are having babies and may know the gyneas.

Hi DD

sorry I took so long...

I asked around when I got pregnant and EVERYBODY referred me to the same Dr.

Tai Richard T H Dr..

Obstrcn & Gynclgst

5/ 64 Arnisdale Rd Duncraig 6023

(08) 9246 1166

He is an Malaysian Dr in case it makes a difference.

I found him very professional but very competent.

I went o him last week for a check up as I have had a "few" problems and he charges $180 of which medicare will reimburse about $65.

He works out of Glengarry Private Hospital as well as Joondalup Hospital.

You will need a reference letter to get to see him. All consults are to be paid on day of visit.

I have had no problems with him and has always treated me very nice...not quite my fab Dr I had in SA who chatted about anything you didn't even realise where he was doing what.. :ilikeit: but would recommend Dr Tai any time.

well hope that helps

Lindy-Lee

PS if you want to know more give me a call anytime, I don't mind

My Dr is dr Catherine Harris. Her office is next to Glengarry hospital in Duncraig. I really like her as she always seems calm and collected and she is kind. Her number is 92433500.

:holy: Literally down the passage from DR Tai in the same building. Another friend of mine was also with her and was very happy with her :ilikeit:

Oh thats great, thanks ladies. I stay 5 mins away from Glengarry Hospital, so both are easy to find!

Did you also need a referral letter for Dr Harris?

Its so annoying, having to fork out for a GP's visit just to go see another doctor.

I would think that you do...most specialists do require one. I found out last week that your referal letter is only valid for a year as well. So I had to get a new referal as well.
