Can I still have open EOI for visa 189/190 after being sponsored by a company?

Hi

 

I'm considering trying to get an Australian company to hire me and therefore sponsor a work visa (subclass 457 visa). If this were to happen, would I still be able to apply for Visa 189 or Visa 190 in parallel? What if I already have an ROI pending - does it get affected?

 

 Basically hoping to get into AUS as soon as possible, so don't want to necessarily wait a year or 2 to get invited to apply.

The 457 visa can no longer be applied for - the new visa replacing the 457 would be the 482 temporary employer sponsored visa. 

 

If you were to obtain a 482 visa you would still be permitted to apply for a 189 or 190 visa. Equally you can apply for a 482 if you have an EOI for a 189/190 in the pool.
