FingersCrossed
Hello everyone I have asked my estate agent who sold my property for a letter of reference for Australia as I heard it can help when trying to secure a rental. She has no problems writing up the letter, however I just need to know what information she needs to put in. Does anyone have a example of what the letter should say / or how it should be formatted? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. thank you FingersCrossed.
Bonny
Hi there- since it was a sale and not a rental, a letter is not really going to help much. I would rather produce the Contract of Sale and bank statements for them. Yes it is a bit of an invasion of your privacy, but it will show you are serious. You can also show 1 year’s bond statement (called a mortgage statement here). That way any prospective agent can see you can service a regular debt without arrears, and -hopefully - have some cash in the bank. Don’t stress too much, rentals are becoming a lot easier to find.
