beval2011 Posted September 18, 2017 Report Share Posted September 18, 2017 Hi all, some time ago I tried to do a nil return on e-filing but it gave a message when i tried to request a return that it would not let me go to the next screen unless it was for emmigration purposes. Anyone have experience or knowledge on this? Is there any other way of submitting nil returns - surely if the system shows that there are no IRP5's issued or interest earned anywhere, then there is nothing going on? We both stated at the start of the forms that we 'ceased to be a resident for tax purposes' during the year in question, and it allowed us to fill in the rest of the forms without problems. I hope we ticked the right box. We didn't formally emigrate financially, but we moved our physical address and were not resident in RSA for at least 8/12 months of that year.
