Brisbane - best suburbs for young professionals

Hi all!

Which Brissie suburbs do you reckon are the best for a young professional couple to rent in? We won't have a car, so proximity to the CBD and public transport is pretty important. We love the outdoors, so would be nice to be close to some parks, close to nice areas for jogging, etc.

Thanks!

Hi my daughter and son in law live in Forest Lake and before that in Springfield Lakes. She works in Spring Hill, she takes the train into the city, it takes about an hour each way. The station is about 15 minutes walk from their house, the bus stop, about 5 minutes walk. Her husband drops her off in the mornings and picks her up in the afternoon. Public transport is safe and reliable.

@Jelly if you are after an apartment, negotiate hard on rent. There is a glut of property that landlords are struggling to shift.

Also consider Yeronga, Yeerongpilly, Fairfield, Sherwood, Taringa, Indooroopilly and surrounds. If you want to go a little 'multicultural' as they politely call it here, you can join us in Moorooka. Quiet, not very expensive, and 20 mins on train to the city. Or just rent in the city, as there's plenty to choose from. Look online to see where the parks are.

Use the Translink Journey Planner online.
