Marine Insurance

Hi guys - we've booked our packing date for next week and looking through the exclusions on the insurance I noticed that pretty much everything that we were bringing across that is of monetary value to us - my imac and vintage camera collection is excluded. Have you had any experience shipping things uninsured? Our agent suggested that we get a lockbox and put the cameras in there.

It probably varies from one insurer to the next. We insured my sewing machine and some computers, including for electrical faults (to my husband's mild disappointment his PC started up just fine )

So I think, read your terms and conditions really carefully, and if you are not satisfied with them, try to get someone else, at least to do the insurance.
