FromDurbs
Just a quick observation. Parenting is changing. My son is 15 and joined scouts in Oz. We are here for a few months only, Melbourne. I was informed (via email) that the scout group will attend an escape room in the city. We dropped my son at the station, made sure he knew which station to get off at and which direction he needs to walk, gave him a Myki card and went home. He arrived home at 21:50 in the dark, having walked 15 mins from the station alone to our home. I was fine with all of this, except from 9:30-9:50 wondering what on earth I will do if he does not arrive home. (He had no cell phone with him. His fell in the bath earlier in the week and he refused to take mine, scared he would loose it. I really wanted him to take mine, but he was completely without phone in all of this.) It is not something I would EVER have considered in South Africa.
RedPanda
Well done. (Or as he would put it: Achievement Unlocked!!!) It takes time to let go of all our super-vigilance.
