TeeTMI
As expected, following the recent election (& change of party and their election promises aiming at reducing WA unemployment). Western Australia RSMS and State Sponsored WASMOL (occupations that are sponsored by the state) are currently suspended & under review. - WA State Sponsorship (state sponsored 190 / 489) "The State Nominated Migration Program and the Western Australian skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) are currently under review. While this review is underway intending migrants will not be invited to apply for Western Australian State nomination." It appears they will seek to remove a number of occupations from this list. - Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS - employer nominated 187) "New applications to certify positions for the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme are temporarily suspended. " According to the electoral promises you might expect Perth to be removed from the locations considered within 'Regional' for this visa No indication has been provided of a time frame. For more details of the electoral policies https://www.markmcgowan.com.au/files/WA_Jobs_First.pdf "A McGowan Labor Government will on day one tear up the list of occupations that fast tracks overseas workers to WA and replace it with a new list that reflects WA’s changed economic circumstances. We will also seek to immediately have Perth removed from the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)."
