vengefire
Hi Folks, Once the visa has been granted, I've read that you have 12 months from the effective date of your health examinations or your police clearance certificates to activate your visa, which requires all applicants to land in Australia. My question is thus: I want to go over before the rest of my family to "till the land", so to speak, and prepare for their arrival. Will this be an issue, given that only I will be landing some months ahead of them, or do we all need to "big bang" arrive together? Mara
If you are the main applicant, you can arrive before them, not a problem at all. The others just have to enter before the final date. The date by which you all have to enter should be stated on your letter which notifies you that your visa has been granted. Make sure you check for that. Edited January 20, 2017 by Mara
ChrisH
The only down side to this is that you'll become eligible for citizenship at different times. Nothing major but I know I'll be counting down the days to hitting that 4 year mark!
