Visa Application - Spouse Work Experience

vengefire

Question

Hi,

During the visa lodgement phase the system asks for partner qualifications and work experience.

I am claiming no points for my wife's skills/qualifications.

My wife worked for a very old professor for some time, and I'm quite certain getting employment references will be difficult as she has subsequently died.

My question is:

Is it correct to furnish the work experience of my wife so long as "Applicant is claiming points for this experience" is set to "NO"? I have indicated I will not be claiming points for said experience.

Thanks

HI @vengefire

My understanding is that if you are NOT claiming the extra 5 points for your spouse, you would indicate NO on your application. If you were claiming spouse points, this would need to include a formal skills/ qualification/ experience assessment plus proof of English competence.

Hope all goes well.
