Andries
Hi all. I am new to the forum and have read many of the topics and comments and have found it quite informative. We are a family of 4 and have started the migrating process by applying for all the required docs like bith and marriage certf etc. The next step the Ielts test. I have a question though and hope someone might be able to help! My occupation is listed as Beef cattle farmer on vetassess and listed as skill 1. On the visa assessment I qualify for sc 190 and sc 489. My question is - Do I still need to do a skills assessment, or should I just do my Ielts and then EOI and hope for an invatation? I am a bit in the dark here and not sure what the next step is, and nobody seems to have the correct info. Looking forward to read any comments or a point in the right direction! ? Rosa1035
Hi Andries, I'm afraid I am clueless, but hopefully someone here will be able to assist you - if not I think it might be worth seeing an immigration specialist. You don't necessarily need to do the whole application through them, but I think it will be money well spent before you start the process. The application is very expensive, and you don't want to waste time and money having to reapply because of a mistake that could have been avoided. Best of luck to you and your family! ChrisH
Good luck @Andries, I would also recommend chatting to a migration specialist.
DavePE
Hi Andries, You would only apply for the 489 visa if you absolutely couldn't get the 190. The 190 is a permanent residency visa and is definitely what you should be aiming for. I'm not sure about the 489, but for the 190 you will definitely have to complete the skills assessment.
