SkillSelect Invitation Round 20 July 2016

 

Skilled Independent 189 Visa: invitations to EOIs with at least 60 points (pro-rata occupations excluded) prior to the 20th July 2016.

Family sponsored subclass 489 - good news another 100 invites Reducing the expected waiting times EOIs with 65 points submitted prior to 2 June 2016 received invitations.

 

Due to a technical glitch the DIBP did not invite any of the Pro-rata occupations in this round.

 

Several Occupations not under the Pro-rata system, but that had filled their quota prior to the end of last year used up a lot of this years quota in the initial round earlier this month, but appear to have steadied now.  http://www.taylormadeimmigration.com/Quota2016

 

Interestingly there currently appear to be more invites than applicants at the moment and it will be interesting to see is this may provide some positive benefit to the Family sponsored 489 applicants (who currently have a relatively long wait) or the Pro-rata occupations?

In the 6th July round of invitations of the 2600 places available for 189 applicants only 2202 invitations were made

190 invitations are issued independently of the rounds, usually shortly after sponsorship has been approved.
