457 Visa

SavLab

Question

Good morning

My BIL is possibly getting a sponsorship job soon, my question is, if he gets the sponsorship and my sister and niece are also on the application, do they need to come to Aus with him immediately or will they be able to stay behind and first arrange for the sale of house/packing up etc. How long will they have before they have to come over or do they all have to come at the same time?

Also, with a 457 visa does the employer pay for the visa costs?

Thanks

Hi @SavLab

We were in a similar situation and we were told that the family on the 457 holder could join at any time. They can come and go as they please as well as work in Australia. They do not all have to arrive at the same time.

On a 457 visa, the employer has to pay certain costs.

Click on Sponsors and then Sponsor Obligations. You will see what they have to pay.
