GKatherine
Hi, Anybody with some insight in terms of work hours/flexibility working at a University in Australia as lecturer/professor? I assume it is pretty much the same everywhere, but thought I'd ask. Also, is the Work With Children Check required, and if so, can you only obtain that once you are in Australia? Thanks. CyberJoe
Hi @GKatherine! I have a family member who works at Wollongong university. They are busy but when we went to visit, he seemed to keep regular working hours. I can however tell you that the requirements to be a professor in Aus is much higher than that of South Africa. There is way more competition and sustained self funding for a research team is almost always a mandatory requirement for any of their professorship positions.
