Cole
Hi :-) Just about 3 weeks until we land in Sydney for our LSD, the excitement is building :-) We're thinking of flying from Sydney to Brisbane, and then hiring a campervan to do a slow drive down to Melbourne via the Princess Highway and Pacific highway. My questions are as follows: 1. Mid-Feb to mid-March: Is sleeping in a campervan in Brisbane's summer weather viable? 2. Can anyone recommend good spots on this route or nearby to stop over at night, with great bathroom facilities? I'm a sucker for a clean bathroom with a hot shower :-) 3. Are there any lovely hidden gem accommodation spots or towns we must see, en-route that come recommended? I'm pretty sure as much as my husband is a die-hard camper, I'll be begging to sleep in a real bed at some stage (we also have two lovely, well-behaved children, aged 3 and 5). Mara
Weddingtog, I guess sleeping in a caravan in Brisbane at that time, would be dependent on what you are used to. Humidity is high and temperatures could be high. I would perhaps look at staying in accommodation for your actual time there and then hiring the caravan when you are ready to start your trip down to Melbourne. I am not sure how much time you have, just remember that it would be around 1800klms, depending on which route you take.
