I posted this last year as well but it is too good to let it pass by this year. There are many other incentives but these do not take a lot of effort to get a positive outcome.

For low or no income earners the Government may contribute up to $500 to your Super if you contribute $1,000:

Also if your spouse/partner contributes to your Super he/she can receiving Tax Offset up to $540:

Good tips for this time of year.

I don't see how a "no income" person could get a co-contribution though. One of the requirements is that you must "Be in full or part-time employment and/or run your own business".

Many businesses in a loss position and with the new $20,000 immediate write-off on certain assets there should be a few more this year - especially new businesses.

I don't trust the government. They have their beady eyes on our superannuation funds! Call me paranoid but I think it's time I started putting my money under the mattress.
