Popular Post AFreshStart Posted May 26, 2015 Popular Post Report Share Posted May 26, 2015 We've been here over 6-months now and I'm not sure I can share much more than I have done in previous posts, but here's the highlight package.We are very so privileged and happy to call Australia home and have settled well, I was just remarking today how while it seems like yesterday since we left South Africa, the friends and family we have made here have made us seem like part of the furniture.Our kids are thriving in school, we're paid complements daily about their progress, we love their teachers, they love us and them and it's great to be able to support them as they've supported us.We have almost weekly play dates, have friends over at least once a week for a meal and host our weekly community group on Wednesdays.I'm playing in the Church band, my wife has been ask to lead one of the children's church groups and our Church family have just been so wonderful in making us feel at home and made some good friends through it.My wife is loving the challenges of her job as they continue to hand over more responsibilities. She's been coaching/training employees, sent up to the Gold Coast for further training and is being primed for a new position. I had to smile today as she was interviewing someone for a job that just a few months ago she was on the other side of that call/desk.By God's grace we have bought our own home as well, a 2-bedroom apartment within the catchment area for the school, close to great parks, a library next door and the huge new facilities that will be coming to Green Square over the next few years. I've thrown myself into making the house a home, having moved 3 times in 8 months, I've borne the brunt of the blood, sweat and tears, but it's so worth it to see how safe and secure they feel.I'm getting to know the suburbs better and can cross many of them without the use of my once daily GPS, almost on auto pilot, which is a fantastic feeling.Here's to the next 6-months and the years to come.CheersMatt 18 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm at the "terrified of failing stage", I have not even left SA soil yet. I am scared of not finding a job, not finding a home, not fitting it.
