Rhyss
Hi all,Does anyone know of decent companies that I can approach with an idea to get VC finance to build a revolutionary new app?CheersPaulIt depends on how much capital you need to raise. Are you talking tens / hundreds of thousands or millions?
ottg
Hi SurfermanWhy do you need VC because once you have a financier in place they ówn' you and a portion of your IP.I'm sure you are aware of the Government Grants available for innovation and commercialization. http://www.business.gov.au/grants-and-assistance/Pages/default.aspx#However it will depend where you are in product development phase. Can you show a working prototype? Can you already show that there is a market waiting for your product? Do you have potential customers that are early adopters etc? Besides your product I assume you already have a business model that has been tested against those early adopters? An alternative is to approach this innovation center. They often have workshops with a panel of VC that evaluate ideas http://www.innovation.wa.gov.auAlso there are regular Lean Startup meetings here: http://www.meetup.com/cities/au/perth/ and type in Lean Startup. There are often Lean Startup bootcamps across Australia.
SurferMan
Hey guys,So I have four ideas that are approved by SAP. I am a member of SAP Startup Focus, so all my ideas are approved as valid commercial ideas. The main idea is worth about $500million in it's first year alone, by our estimates. I need about $2m-$3m to build the prototype, but it has around 100 million customers ready to use it once built. I can show a prototype in action, and I have done the Business Case, the High Level Design, Function Design anf Detailed Technical Design. The business models for all four are approved by SAP, which is really hard to do. I have another three ideas ready to go, just need to focus on the first.Another seven concepts are sitting in validation phase.

SurferMan
Hahaha,Nah, the idea is to give 10% to my church and then build our beach shack on the shore. Then around Australia for six months to a year. Then back to helping others. Would love to be a lay missionary and cruise rural Australia. :ilikeit: Edited February 4, 2015 by SurferMan
