In the Doncaster area, I do not think you will easily find temporary, furnished, accommodation.

Hotel Accommodation - scroll down to Melbourne East

Caravan Park - Doncaster East

Rental Homes - just type in Doncaster

Furniture Rentals

An option is to take a hotel room for a couple of weeks, look around for a rental house, rent the necessary furniture by the week until your stuff arrives, and buy a couple of pots and pans, crockery and cutlery to keep you going....camping out style! This will probably be the cheapest option.

If there is any other info I can help with, feel free to ask.

Hi Mara, thanks for the reply. Wanted to ask the same question. We don't have a specific area that we must stay, have been looking at the airport area, because the hotels/motels pick u up and then the St Kilda and Yarra areas. Are they "good"areas, close to cbd and that sort of thing? Can u recommend any other areas or names of Hotels/Motels. We are only 2 people and looking for a place for the first week or so. Thereafter we will try to rent a place once we know where we will work etc. Thanks again,

We're going over in June and have booked 2 weeks at this apartment in South Yarra. It comes highly recommended by a few people who have used it and looks very clean. If you go back to the main page there are a couple of other apartments there you can look at.

Hi Langes

I found the following 2-bedroom apartment for somebody else, it is in the city centre and at around $75 per night, is the best price I could get.

If you wait to closer to your arrival, they only take bookings 14 days in advance, then you can try

St Kilda and South Yarra are pretty close to city centre and the public transport will get you around quite easily.

If there is anything else I can do to assist, just shout!

Hi

I found this web site while searching for accomodation in melbourne. I haven't read through the whole thing yet, but it seems to have some good information:

Newcomers Network

Hope this helps!
