Family tax benefits 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 due date

For anyone entitled to some Centrelink benefits, please keep in mind that for the 2011-2012 (so June 2012) year you only have until end of June 2014 to lodge a claim for a lump sum.

In addition, in the previous budget (May 2013) the time to lodge claims had been decreased to 12 months after year-end so for the 2012-2013 (so June 2013) year you also have until June 2014 to lodge a claim. See the link below.

Your tax affairs pertaining to the year you are claiming must be up to date since Centerlink uses the ATO information to confirm earnings.
