APS and security clearance

A lot of the recruitment posts Im looking at says APS - Australian Public Service

So far not one has explicitly said I need citizenship, but I have come across the following:

To apply for this role you will hold a current security clearance (minimum Baseline) or be eligible to receive one

To be eligible for the baseline security clearance - do you need citizenship?

I don't know. Mine was somewhat above that, and I had to answer questions about why I kept SA citizenship when I got Aussie citizenship.

Maybe if you ask the agent?

I was able to find this http://www.online89.com.au/index.php/o89-knowledgebase-menu/o89-government-related-info/114-security-clearances

Where it said:

"Australian security clearances are normally only granted to
Australian citizens whose backgrounds can be checked for the requisite
period of 5 years for base line clearances, 10 years for negative
vetting clearances and whole of life for positive vetting level
clearances.

Australian citizenship is a condition of eligibility for security
clearances. In exceptional circumstances, your agency head may waive
this requirement if the risks can be otherwise mitigated."

These are the people who do it, but not much info on their site http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva/
