Clover
Hi GuysI was hoping that someone from the forum could please help me with some guidance on how to make a payment to Australia from South Africa. I have been given the option of Bank Cheque or money Order. Where would I buy a money order and what documents would I need to send one. With regards to the bank cheque, what sort of documents would I need to get the cheque done. Are bank cheques and money orders done immediately or is there a waiting period ?Thanking all of you in advance
GideonVD
Or go to your bank and have a SWIFT transfer via their Forex teams. The easiest and least stressful way to do that. Even guys like CashKows, Exchange4Free and TreasuryOne can do it
chzaau
You can get a bank cheque issue by the forex at the bank. You just need to take in your invoice from the foreign company, there address and bank details on a letter head. They give you a form to complete and a few days later you collect the cheque. Erik
you get a cheque or money order from the forex dept at your bank. You will need proof of why you need it (i.e. invoice or something).
Pertheption
What is the least expensive way to move currency or one that offers the best rate of exchange? Or is it pretty much apples and apples? Sorry for the stupid question!

CLAREandANDRE
Also, make sure the conversion to AUD is done that side. It can depend on the value of the bank cheque, but if it arrives to your Australian bank as foreign currency (not Aussie Dollars) there can be a wait of up to six weeks for the funds to clear.
