Batman4eva
hello everyone, question: rumour has it that before Oz will let you in, you have to prove you have enough money to support yourself for 3 months. is this so?
Toitjie
Hi Batman - your question has to do with state sponsorship. Some states require you to prove that you have a certain amount of funds available before they will grant SSIf you have a visa in hand, there is no financial requirement, you may land with a million or you may land with only the clothes on your back
Batman4eva
ok, we are planning to apply for SS with South Australia. so what you are saying is that if we get our visa, then it doesnt matter, regardless of state.
Izzy
make sure you take a travel coffee mug as a cuppuchino in Sydney is $3.80.
chzaau
Be careful, if you are asked to specify how much funds you have be truthful. The problem is if you say you got XYZ and then hit a hard patch and go looking for assistance, the government may look at your visa application to see what you said you had and find out why you no longer have it etc. If you lied then that is grounds upon which to terminate your visa. Toitjie
I don't think you can only say you have enough funds, you have to give proof such as pension fund credit etc. Not really much room to lie about it

Donovan83
$6 is very expensive for a coffee, even for Perth. I've never really paid more than about $4.
