ZA bank account

Hi

I wanted to see if anyone was using a Capitec "Global One" account to do basic transactions in SA after emigrating to Australia. Their charges seems to be the lowest (at least while one is not borrowing money from them).

Another benefit is that they use a random number generating fob - rather than one time pins sent via SMS - so theoretically online banking should be a breeze.

If not, what bank/account are you using that does not cost an arm and a leg to run?

thanks

I'm with Nedbank GoBanking. It used to be Pick n Pay GoBanking but now Nedbank manages the accounts. I pay R16 a month for Internet banking and as long as as I keep R5000 in the account I don't pay any other charges for 'normal' transactions.

I did have to go into Nedbank before I left to sign authority to the manager to authorise changes on my behalf. Then when I got to Australia I called the bank manager to request they change the mobile number on their system to my Australian mobile number.

I've had no issues since and I've been operating my account like this for just over a year.
