Hello all. I have just joined up to the forum. While I am not from South Africa, I do have some very dear friends who introduced my husband and I to the joy of biltong. My South African friends have made the journey to Perth, Western Australia, and I know some of the issues they have had in moving. Please feel free to contact me if you want to know of some great South African restaurants near Perth or where you can pick up some groceries etc that are unique to your home.

I also have 9 years experience in working within the Banking and Finance industry. If you have any queries or want to know how things are done in Australia, don't hesitate to ask me.

I hope that you all have a safe journey to Australia and that the country provides you everything you want it to.

Wow, thankyou for the kinds words. I am also very open to biltong recipes. I bought my husband a food dehydrator for our last anniversary and he has been busy making different styles of biltong! I also love the Durban curry recipes. We have been introduced to Bunny Chow which I think is amazing!

I see that you have banking and finance experience, do you currently work in a financial institution? I am a ICT BA with primary domain knowledge of Banking and banking systems within RSA. Could I possibly PM you regarding vacancies?

We are arriving in beginning of November, and not having employment is a bit of a stressful feeling.

Thanks

Hey SaraJane

Welcome to the forum and yes the bunny chow and all is very tasty, and I am also a huge biltong fan.

Hi Henk. Yes, I currently work in a specialist department of Westpac Premium Financial Services. I do have a contact who is a recruiter in Financial Services. Feel free to PM me your details, and with your permission, I can forward that to my contact. He will probably have more information about vacancies than I do. It sounds exciting that you are moving in November. Have you found an area that you are looking at residing in?
